I’ll provide a disclaimer at the beginning of this post – I hate AARP. They are cultish and deceptive. I used to sell insurance in a former life and had an opportunity to read some of the policies that AARP sells which are complete crap. My mother spent a year shopping for some Part B insurance for her Medicare before she retired and arrived at the same conclusion without any prompting from me.
I broke out laughing when one of the AARP clowns in the following video began bad-mouthing insurance companies – AARP is nothing but an insurance brokerage that survives on the commissions they get from the insurance they sell. they have a vested interest in the Obama plan because seniors are going to need insurance to fill the huge gaps that will occur in senior care.
Anyway, to the video; AARP was holding an informational meeting for some members in Dallas yesterday. The AARP reps got a little angry and left when their membership started questioning them about AARP’s support for the Obama plan.
The AARP corporate shills were baffled at how the seniors wouldn’t take orders and let them spew the corporate line. Finally they unplugged their mike and left. Damn swastika-wearing seniors. That was from Moe Lane at RedState.

This was great. Kay Bailey Hutchison was absent from a TH meeting…do you think she was incognito at the AARP…hehe.
AARP- Maybe when I am an old geezer. They’ve been trying unsuccessully to recruit me for nearly 19 years now. With 68 laps around the sun, I am not geezerly enough to fall for their horseshit, so I still don’t belong. And, as for the 10% discount at low rate motels, and a few restaurants? I just tell them that I will pass on the AARP discount and take the Senor citizens one. Works every time.
We of the “Anti-Reform Mob”, who largely consist of “Right Wing Extremists”, and “Veteran Extremists”; only want those who are selling this pig in a poke to read the damned bill. Read it and see why we are the “Anti-Reform Mob”!

I vowed never to join AARP when I became eligible after they blocked attempts to reform the Social Security program, which would have allowed us to opt out to some extent and invest the money in to private vehicles. Sure people are going to say that with the current economic downturn maybe that was a good thing to which I say poo. The economy goes in cycles and if the government will just quit meddling we will recover just fine. The longer the FDR loving politicians, many who judging by their age knew him personally, continue to inject themselves into it the longer the recovery is going to take.
Sometimes you got to lead, sometimes follow, and sometimes you just need to get the hell out of the way.
Last December, I was given a membership in AARP by my father. His little joke. Since it wasn’t MY money, I’ve used it for the discounts, but like the others, I know that they are a bunch of scum sucking bottom dwellers. The membership comes due for renewal in December, and my Saturnalia present to myself will be to take the money I’d be sending them and use it to buy a nice Bourbon.
respects,
I just send their applications back to them, blank. Or, I send them the flyers for the equine supply magazines I get. Which I think is quite appropriate, considering their political bent.
