Here’s a good memory test for you: see the above photo? Remember when the Border Patrol was accused of whipping Haitian immigrants with the reins of their horses? It’s been a year.
On Sept. 24, 2021, Biden spoke out days after an incident amid the Haitian migrant crisis in Del Rio. Border Patrol agents had been dealing with a surge of over 10,000 migrants who had gathered under the nearby bridge.
Photographs emerged that some Democrats and media commentators had incorrectly interpreted as showing agents using whips or whipping migrants who were trying to cross the river. In fact, the agents were using split reins to control their horses.
However, the narrative was already in motion, and quickly the images drew condemnation from top congressional Democrats and top Biden officials, including Vice President Kamala Harris and Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, who had initially backed the agents but subsequently announced an investigation.
Five days after the initial incident, and after the whipping claims had been debunked (emphasis added – me), Biden was asked about the incident.
“To see people treated like they did, horses barely running over, people being strapped — it’s outrageous,” Biden told reporters, making a whipping motion with his hand. “I promise you, those people will pay. There will be an investigation underway now, and there will be consequences. There will be consequences.”
The internal Customs and Border Patrol investigated whether anyone had been whipped, and the best they could come up with was that a CBP had called someone a name, someone else had used improper radio procedures, and an agent was accused of using his horse improperly around the crowd. (Thought that was what horeseback drowd control was about?) The CBP boys didn’t even HAVE whips. One would think a Presidential apology would be in order.

Well, it took a while in Dee-troit! The dems had to shut down the counting downtown, throw up paper on the windows to block any view of what was going in the counting room and then truck in boxes full of ballots.
Then 5 hours later, give or take an hour or two, they “resumed” counting.
DHS was intended to stop the “stovepiping” of intel and information and allow it to be shared more broadly with various government agencies. A wonderful idea. The reality is that all it did was create more stovepipes. Now, in true government fashion, more people in more agencies either (a) know less than ever, or (b) are so awash in intel and data that nobody can separate the wheat from the chaff.
