The director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and PINO Joe’s chief medical adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci, said Thursday evening that Americans could face more lockdowns as a Covid subvariant named BA.2 spreads throughout the U.S.
He suggests Americans should “be able to pivot and go back to any degree of mitigation that is commensurate with what the situation is.”
The question is of course, who decides what mitigation measures are necessary, and what data supports that decision as effective?

Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, warned Americans this week that they could soon face additional COVID-19 lockdown measures should a new strain of the virus cause case numbers to increase.
Fauci, who also serves as an adviser to President Biden, said the BA.2 subvariant could soon increase the rate of infections in America. He suggested that Americans should “be able to pivot” back and forth between a more common way of life and the measures that were taken in an attempt to slow the spread of the virus at the height of the pandemic.
“If in fact, we do see a turnaround and a resurgence, we have to be able to pivot and go back to any degree of mitigation that is commensurate with what the situation is,” Fauci said Thursday during an interview with CNN.
A few facts gleaned from the interwebs on Covid and the BA.2 subvarient:
-It doesn’t appear to be any more dangerous to people than the omicron variant.
-It looks like vaccines and naturally acquired immunity should be as effective against BA.2 as other strains.
-In recent weeks, U.S. infection rates have continually fallen. This of course may change.
-Anti-viral medications appear to work against the subvariant.
-Many experts, although not all, view the highly transmissible but less deadly omicron as the catalyst for ending the dragging pandemic.
-Analysis by Johns Hopkins found lockdowns during the early stages of the pandemic in 2020 reduced COVID-19 mortality by 0.2%.
Since every measure mandated by the CDC via Fauci, from masks and social distancing to lockdowns have now been proven ineffective, let’s do them all over. This man has not a shred of credibility.
