Jussie Smollett Convicted

Well, the drama may be over or maybe just beginning.  Nevertheless, actor Jussie Smollett has been found guilty of five of six counts when he allegedly lied to the police about a hate crime perpetrated against him.

What I found interesting is that FoxNews lead with “Smollett Guilty” as a headline and CNN lead with “Jussie Smollett guilty on some charges.”

Translation: “some” = 5 of 6.  CNN may have discussed using “most” vs. “some” but may have felt it was misleading and counterproductive to their narrative.

The purpose of softening the headline was most likely to either shape the narrative or double down on their original reporting.

My prediction is that Smollett won’t do any prison time, as others have speculated as well.  He will do what all Hollywood actors do – say they are a victim of this or that, seek counseling, attend a retreat and wash away their sins.

Smollett may have to be creative and say he suffers from MAGA perceived persecution as a gay black promoted by former President Trump.  It was real to him, and he genuinely believed that Trump supported MAGA people were after him.

Looking forward to where this goes once the appeal fails.  For now, Smollett is appealing the ruling.

Loved the check memes!

If you are not familiar with the story of Jussie Smollett, Dave Chappelle summed it up nicely.

  1. After “Juicy” finishes his Barry and Michelle produced Netflix Special, he will become Director of Media Relations for the Barry Prezzy Library.

Sorry, Hack Stone…No room for you in their proposed TO&E.

    1. Always a Director Of Media Relations for a proud but humble woman owned business that sells software to the federal government, never a Director Of Media Relations for a Presidential Library. Such is the fate cast upon Hack Stone.

  2. I think that cnn came out with the guilty verdict sweating out that the possible new cnn owner may go to just a news network like it was when it first started. Get the right jury for the court appeal may find him not guilty. They had the right jury for the oj trial knowing he was guilty but had to find him not guilty after the rod king incident. This came out from a jurer a number of years after the trial

    1. By “possible new CNN owner,” do you mean Kyle Rittenhouse? He’ll probably have to share ownership with Nick Sandman.

  3. That’s OK Juicy… So you were found guilty of being a putz. Don’t beat yourself up over it.

        1. Has anybody ever figured out what instrument makes the doink doink sound.

Not that it matters really as it will probably never be a jeopardy question.

          1. The “Doink Doink” sound is a mixture of at least a dozen sounds, including a judge’s gavel, a jail door slamming and 500 Japanese Monks stomping on a hardwood floor at the same time.

        2. It go something like this:

Olivia and Elliot could investigate his nonsense, er…I mean, “claim” where Smollett (aka: Smullett) could have been found at a crowded bus stop claiming a hate crime under a possible bizarre sexual motive (Don Lemon will even be making a guest appearance on the show supporting Smullett’s claim).

He is then interviewed by BD Wong (Dr. Haung) for psychiatric competency, who suspects Smullett is a liar. But during the interview, he falls for him and wants to start a long-term relationship!

Then, when E & O are questioning him, CPT Cragen could roll in and interrupt the interview with some new explosive evidence, er, I mean, “directive” he received in a phone call from higher: Let Smullett go!

But what Cragen does not know is that BD Wong facilitated a call to the Commissioner through Don Lemon to try to drop the charges as Smullett is a publicly known celebrity!

          DoinkDoink

          Next?

          1. I think that just might work. Ice-T could call in a favor from his Ranger buddies in the investigation…

    1. I would like to see him get six months in the PITA pound and then have to stand on the street in downtown Chicongo wearing a sign that says “I am a fraud and a hate crime hoaxer.”

        1. He should serve time in a women’s prison– being locked up with lots of sweaty pumped men is too much fun for him.

        2. Well, that may be. But I’m thinking he might not be amenable when his cellie, Big Bubba, starts forcing a Dirty Sanchez on him at 3:00 a.m., like it or not.

    1. That was my initial thinking as well, but Biden will likely grant a pardon, or the State of Illinois will restore those rights somehow.

He may escape real punishment, but he can always face public ridicule over the internet.

  4. Don Lemon may have had CNN soft-pedal the verdicts so he’d have a chance to snuggle with Jussie.

    1. Indeed. He’s probably already looking forward to those shirtless prison-bitch pics of Jussie.

  5. The only place I can find sympathy for Jussie Smollet is in a dictionary between somewhere “shit” and “syphilis”.

  6. He should now sleep well knowing that the perpetrator of the vicious attack on him has been brought to justice.

      1. Sure. They likely had that check cashed within 24 hours. They needed the money to fly back to Nigeria. They testified Juicy told them to get outta the country.

    1. Juicy believed he was going to make millions from what the PR would do for his career. Before this stunt 90% of the country had never heard of him.

      1. It worked like a charm until those detectives started investigating. Even Gropey and his Ho had to tweet about him.

  7. Ol’ Poe’s losin’ it for sure. he posted the comment below this afternoon on the wrong thread and just now discovered it. Old Fart’s Disease strikes again.

    🙄🙄🙄

Liberalpundits are pushing the meme that Smollett’s conviction will make it harder for victims of actual hate crimes to be believed.

As usual, the libs have it ass-backwards: it is the perpetrators of these fake hate crimes like Smollett who make it more difficult for actual victims to be believed.

Of course, none of the liberal pundits has the self-awareness to wonder why so many prominent hate crimes turn out to be hoaxes. Not a one of them ever ponders the possibility that actual hate crimes against blacks are so infrequent that they must be created by their “victims”.

Quite unlike actual hate crimes perpetrated by blacks against whites and asians which are so frequent as to have become commonplace.

And either excused or played down by the liberal media; or, whenever possible, totally ignored…

    1. The demand for a racist White supremacist narrative exceeds the supply. That’s where Jussie came in.

    2. Funny how so many “hate crimes” in the past few years have been proven to be bogus. Happenstance? Coincidence?

  8. Another point that few are talking about is the blatant perjury Smollett committed this week in court. As ol’ Poe commented over at Breitbart:

Smollett should next be charged with perjury for his untruthful courtroom testimony while under oath. He sat there and told baldfaced lies to judge, jury and prosecutors, knowing full well what he was doing.

Perjury doesn’t get any more blatant than that. Or more deserving of being punished.

  9. Maybe someone needs to do a remake of the old HBO series “Oz” with Juicy as a character? The Boys at the BTJT Deli (Home of the WORLD FAMOUS Cockmeat sammich) will love to share their exploits with little Juicy…

    1. There’s been rumors that Lemon might be next on CNN’s chopping block from his alleged communications with Smollet that people weren’t buying into his story!

  10. According to one website chronicling fake hate crimes, there have been over six hundred of them since 1964.

  11. OK, I’ve got it. The PERFECT defense for Jussie Smollett.

He comes out and claims that he suffers from Trump-induced MAGA anxiety and sincerely believes people are after him. He schedules and attends therapy to bolster this narrative.

Then, he claims he hired the Nigerian brothers to protect him from MAGA folks and they misunderstood and thought they were supposed to beat Smollett up vs. protect him.

Something got lost in translation since they were Nigerian.

When the “beat down” occurred, he didn’t recognize the brothers and *genuinely* thought they were MAGA folks administering social justice for Smollett’s prior anti-Trump statements.

I know this may sound weak but the key to any defense is to make yourself the sole authority of the narrative. IOW, people have to come to you for story fact-checking and you become the master of the narrative because they have to explore the many twisted avenues of your imagination, which ironically, nobody can dispute.

The other key to this is that the media will buy it, seeing it is another shot at Trump – another form of Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) and Smollett can count on their support and promotion of this narrative. It will also help them cover up them backing the wrong horse. It’s easy, Smollett did not intentionally make it up – he sincerely believed it. Much the same as being transgender. Sincerity vs. imagination – sincerity triumphs.

    1. Your scenario is just as believable as Juicy’s absurd, bogus fraud. That should be his new story.

    1. Great clip. It should go viral. Except the Daily clip showed Jussie started to eat the sandwich and dropped it. The Chicongo cops were suspicious, as it survived the “beat down”. The detectives thought it was odd Jussie brought it home and it looked untouched.

      1. On Fox News, David Webb, the black conservative Boston radio host came up the best line on the Subway sammich for closing argument: “If that sandwich was not bit, you cannot acquit.”

The reason the sandwich was unbit is because Juicy considered it merely a prop for his little street theater performance.

  12. One of Juicy’s jurors was interviewed. He said they all voted initially to convict him on all charges but the last one. They gave him a pass on the last one becuause it was based on the assault being commited with a mask. Since all the counts were accomplished with a mask, they thought it shouldn’t be a separate charge. So they decided that charge was duplicative and excessive and thus voted “not guilty.”

Oh, that juror said that when Juicy took and stand and lied to them, that sealed his fate. Juicy’s appeal is doomed, IMHO.
