In August 2007, Joe Biden warned against leaving our weapons in Iraq

In the segment of the speech, in the video below, Joe Biden talked about what would be involved with pulling troops out of Iraq. He argued that this could not be done instantly but would take a year. If we left our weapons behind, that could be accomplished in seven months. However, he warned about leaving billions of dollars of weapons behind.

Transcript from August 12, 2007:

How we end this war, and it makes a big difference to tell the American people the truth about what our options are in the needless (?) war. If tomorrow, the order goes out from the president, I’m president of the United States, I issue an order, “End the war today, begin to withdraw all American troops.”

It will take a year to get the American troops out. Do you hear me now? That’s the truth! It will take a year to get them physically out!

Now if you leave all the equipment behind, you might be able to do it in seven months! And you leave those billions of dollars of weapons behind, I promise, they’re going to be used against your grandchild and mine someday.

  1. To be fair, you can’t expect him to remember what he said 14 years ago. He can’t remember what he said 14 minutes ago.

    1. Shit, just last week he was talking to his mom and his son Beau about how Pope Pius X told him that he was the best Catholic since Jesus. True story. I’m not even kidding. C’mon, man.

    2. He also went to the Port of Baltimore to address the supply chain issue… why not LA/Long Beach? Savannah? Houston?

Dumbass doesn’t even know where the issues are hitting us hardest.

      Fucking idiot.

  2. What I want to know is who is pulling the puppets strings right now. The debacle over his answer regarding illegal aliens receiving “compensation ($450k) is garbage and not going to happen in one press conference. Then a day or two later saying it is a real objective is pretty indicative that he is not in charge.

    1. He said it was a real objective and that they deserve it while claiming he never said it was garbage.

Democrats are pigs. Americans are waking up — and they better be scared.

    2. Look, it can be both garbage and an objective at the same time. In fact it makes sense to a liberal.

Biden is definitively not in charge.

    3. For the four Trump years we were endlessly lectured on how there is no Deep State. Now, we have a president who is obviously being run by somebody. They’ve actually now built a fake White House for him to broadcast from the basement to give the appearance he’s there at work.

Who is really in the Oval Office if not Biden?

  3. I wonder why his memory is failing, and talking about I wonder why, Check out “I Wonder Why” by Dion and the Belmonts 1958 on the Laurie label. Used to listen to it on the Allan Freed Radio show.

  4. You know, Joe can’t remember shit.
Cause obviously he’s full of it, swimming in it, sitting in it.
The Emperor has no clean underwear or pants.

  5. Nearly 50 years of being a lying, grifting, politician. Did anybody expect any different? Didn’t think so. PHUQUE HEEM!!!

Who’s pulling the strings? Follow the money, you’ll find out that it’s the usual suspects. Soros, oblowme, bezo the clown, suckerman, the Chinese Communist, Putin, the MIC…. Need I go on?

  6. Not just the equipment, HOW MANY AMERICAN CITIZENS were abandoned there as well as those who genuinely supported us?

  7. Today’s “Let’s go Brandon… and the government shutdown/policies that caused this BS” moment (for me):

Ground beef (85/15): $7.50/pound at Kroger

    Thanks a pantload.
