Confessions of a mech soldier

This is why I became a mechanized soldier, and I always blessed Ronald Reagan for giving us the Bradley with it’s awesome firepower available to the touch at the trigger commanded by a lowly squad leader;

Although this a Stryker in the video, the TOW missile remains the same.

Here’s a firefight from the POV of the Brad Commander;

Thanks to Conservative Grapevine and Right Wing Video for the memories.

  1. Never became a Bradley guy. First 10 years I was mech in the M113, then I made E-7, went recruiting and upon my return to the real Army the transition was almost complete. I got caught in a classic Catch-22. I could convert to 11M if I could get assigned to a Bradley equipped unit, no Bradley equipped unit wanted an E-7 who wasn’t 11M. So I spent my last 10 years as straight leg in a variety of units.

  2. Don’t you just love the stab on the Bradley? If you didn’t watch carefully you would miss the pivot turn in the middle of the street from the TC POV.

    Poetry in motion.
