Several of our Usual Suspects have sent in articles concerning Joe’s nominee for SecArmy. Christine Wormuth has never served a day in the military, but this is not a prerequisite for the job. According to US Code, “The Secretary shall, to the greatest extent practicable, be appointed from among persons most highly qualified for the position by reason of background and experience, including persons with appropriate management or leadership experience.”

Does she have the required qualifications and leadership experience? That’s for the Senate to determine during confirmation hearings.

Biden picks 1st woman to be Army secretary

If confirmed, Christine Wormuth would be the first woman to hold the job.

In a historic nomination, President Joe Biden has nominated Christine Wormuth to serve as the secretary of the Army.

If confirmed by the Senate, Wormuth — who once served as the Pentagon’s top policy official in the final years of the Obama administration — would be the first woman to serve in the position.

A veteran national security official with previous experience at the Pentagon, Wormuth also served at the director for defense policy at the National Security Council during the Obama administration.

Wormuth has most recently worked as the director of the International Security and Defense Policy Center at the Rand Corporation and was an influential player in the Biden transition team at the Pentagon where she headed the Biden-Harris Defense Agency Review Team.

“Christine is a true patriot with a dedicated career in service to America and our nation’s security,” Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said in a statement issued while he is traveling in Berlin.

  2. First. Her prior positions indicate she might just be qualified. Of course her positions in that administration also point to her politics as well.

    1. her positions in the Obummer admin disqualify her completely.

      Any individual who was part of the criminal regime of Obama is absolutely unfit for public service in any form.

      Why do I say that?

      Iran
      Fast and Furious
      Spying on political opponents
      jailing journalists
      drone strikes on wedding parties
      funding terrorists
      destruction of Libya and Syria
      creation of domestic terror orgs
      green steal deals

      One cannot have been an appointee in that administration without being part of one or more of those criminal conspiracies.

      And so, for never being sheetcanned out of the military,
      she somehow becomes more qualified.

She will likely go ahead and save the Army some money by stopping the programs to update the battle rifle (“I’m sure the M4 is good enough…it worked in the last couple of wars…hmmh!”); the long range artillery program (“Isn’t your job to close with and destroy the enemy? Can’t really close with if you are 70 miles away now can we?!”); the TALOS program (aka Ironman Suit)…well maybe not since she’ll want everyone to be able to do all jobs, can’t have a little thing like human genetics stop that; new armored vehicles, except the remotely operated ones, powered by AI (“we don’t need trained killers…that’s bad!”); and of course anything that gets us back on par with Russia or China like Electronic Warfare, ISR, or Lasers…that should pay for that Green New Deal!

  15. Who in this administration isn’t a diversity hire? The next Sec. Of (fill in the branch) will be gay, or trans, or muslim, or any combination if not all three. Still the most important trait is to be a staunch supporter of “The Swamp”.

  16. Two pretty much certain things come from this. One is that it is soooo trendy, hip and kewl. The other is that this twatwaffle will fuck it up from the get go and all the way to the end of her tenure.
