This is breaking news and a developing situation. As we’ve been taught by our “leaders” in Congress and the celebrities that always know best, we should immediately jump to all sorts of conclusions.

“Lone wolf” drives into armed police checkpoint, brandishes knife, gets his apparent wish to die granted

Fox News is reporting;

The United States Capitol was locked down on Friday due to an “exterior security threat,” as the United States Capitol Police (USCP) said two officers were injured after a car rammed into them. Sources said the suspect exited his car wielding a knife and was shot by the USCP, dying of his injuries.

Fox News is told security officials believe the suspect was a “lone wolf,” not connected to any other group.

“Man, we just shot somebody,” an officer told Fox News.

“Due to an exterior security threat, no entry or exit is permitted at this time in any building in the Capitol complex,” a voice announcement throughout the complex sounded.

The entry point where the scene unfolded is directly where senators and aides enter the Capitol each day. The incident occurred at the North barricade vehicle access along Constitution Avenue. Capitol Police had originally reported Independence Avenue before issuing a correction.

I really need to make up our own Jump to Conclusions Mat for those playing the game at home. Until then, here’s the one from Office Space.

If nothing else, this should ensure that the National Guard spends the rest of their enlistments in D.C.

***UPDATE at 1542L D.C.***

At least one news agency is reporting that one of the injured Capitol Police officers has died from injuries sustained during the vehicular assault.

    1. It looks like a lunatic committing suicide by cop (Capitol Police). They will shoot anyone who invades their space, especially with a motor vehicle. Recall that several years ago there was an unarmed black woman who was shot dead by them when she hit a barricade with her car, no questions asked.
