This isn’t good

Protester inside the Capitol Building

If 2020 was the year of the “fiery, but mostly peaceful” left wing riots, it’s looking like 2021 might be the year of the aggressive right wing riot. Brietbart (and others) are reporting;

Protestors entered the United States Capitol building as the House and Senate are voting to certify the 2020 presidential election.

Following a “Save America” rally featuring President Trump, protestors marched from the White House Elipse in Washington, D.C. to the U.S. Capitol and breached security barriers. Footage from reporters inside the Capitol now shows that protestors have made their way into the building.

Follow the link above for links to several Twitter feeds from inside the building. It doesn’t appear as if anyone has been assaulted or fire bombed and the building isn’t being looted. Yet. The day is still young. If these “protesters” follow the playbook from the last few years worth of riotous “protest”, being in the Senate Chambers is probably not a good place to be at the moment.

Suddenly new Representative Lauren Boebert’s (R-CO) promise to carry a sidearm into her daily life throughout D.C. doesn’t seem so crazy, does it?

  1. Another fatality. A Capitol Hill police officer has reportedly died from injuries sustained in yesterday’s events.

    1. Damn, that’s terrible. And according to this link, the 40-year old officer, a 15-year veteran of the force, died of a stroke. It’d be interesting to know more.. I’m no doctor, and while I know physical trauma or chokes can cause strokes, more information would be useful. If his death was an unfortunate result of stress, that’s one thing. If it’s from physical trauma, I hope they have information on any aggressors.

Of the others, Kevin Greeson (55) also died of a stroke. Benjamin Phillips (50) from a heart attack, and Roseanne Boyland (34) from being trampled in the Rotunda. And Ashli Babbitt (35), of course, was shot.

The article below notes that Greeson encouraged violence against Democrats, which tempers my sympathy for him – that’s just asinine. But all of them, I’m sure, were expecting a good day… and more importantly, their families and friends surely expected them to return unharmed. My thoughts go out to them.

  2. An update on that Washington Times article claiming that the facial recognition software identified Antifa members – they now fully retract that:

Correction: An earlier version of this story incorrectly stated that XRVision facial recognition software identified Antifa members among rioters who stormed the Capitol Wednesday. XRVision did not identify any Antifa members. The Washington Times apologizes to XRVision for the error.

    1. OK, This is good. Not good that it’s not true but good that a member of the not regular media (because no one else CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS would retract shit) the Wash Times retracted and apologized.
      THAT is good.

  3. Just checking in to let you know that I read none (0) of your comments.

Once again, anyone who is in any way supporting or justifying or rationalizing the insurrection, Donald Trump, or his supporters should find the oath you once took, re-read it, have a look in the mirror, and reconsider.

You are part of the problem; no better than the people justifying BLM and Antifa all summer long.

As a reminder, I will not review, read, consider, or lay awake thinking about anything any of you have to say on the topic. If you disagree, you are beyond reason. If you agree you are just asking for the mob to attack you- go spend time with someone you care about.

    1. Oh yes you have, you’ve read EVERY single one of them! You say no, but your self righteous ego gets in the way! You can’t help yourself! You egotistical Prick!

    2. “Just checking in to let you know that I read none (0) of your comments.”

Well, Colonel, none (0) of the people here believe that BS, you pompous, attention-seeking phony…

      1. That’s Colonel SteeleyI to you, Dog Face Pony Boy!!!

BTW – Lars is my bestest buddy here!

      2. “Colonel”? Well, that explains it. A fucking officer, probably one of those who actually believes we salute the man, not the uniform.

    3. Didn’t read yours beyond name, fist line, and scroll to find “reply”.

You went Seagull. Congrats. You made the cut. Way to represent Army.

    4. “Just checking in to let you know that I read none (0) of your comments.”

You seem to be laboring under the delusion that somebody cares.

    5. So good of you to check in, you know how we worry. I don’t think you can find anyone here that supports this act, although you will find those who do understand the sentiment behind it. And don’t you ever question anyone of the TAH denizen’s loyalty to the oath they took and still live by. You’re still the arrogant sexual intellectual I once referred to you as. Now, take your pompous ass back to your comfy little ivory tower, and go preach you sanctimonious shit to someone who will listen. You’re dismissed, colonel. Further check-ins are neither requested nor desired.

      1. “… sexual intellectual…”

        Eh??
        You have aroused my curiosity.

Uh, my INTELLECTUAL curiosity. I do like wordplay. It’s like intellectual foreplay.

        I know, I’m leaving.

        1. It’s a politically correct way to call someone a fucking know it all. See also; “Irish Tact”.

  4. So, if the rioters had been wearing pussy hats, it is OK to storm Congress?

    What, forgotten already?

  5. So now the Donks show enlightened and highly-transparent governance, taking full responsibility for what comes, good or bad.

    Nah.

    “It’s all Trump’s fault” (Trotsky’s? Snowball?) Endlessly.

And of course, vengeance. Because the way you show you are the winning political team is to make sure your opponent never again plays.

“War” on the other hand, is when you destroy the opposition. Hm. But both sides get to play that one. Ouch.

    1. Wanna bet that the bullhorns were used to tell the infiltrators when it was time to disappear? Did anyone see any bullhorns inside, or were they only outside? Hmmm.

Let’s see. The “mob” contained people predominately wearing all black, appeared to have some level of organization, and knew exactly where to “breach.” Only a few of them actually entered the building.

Well. Means nothing, perhaps. Or it might be highly significant. We shall see. Or not.

  6. More Antifa disclosures from PJ Media:

Rep. Mo Brooks Says There’s Evidence Antifa Was Involved in Assault on Capitol

Rep. Mo Brooks (R-Ala.) is imploring people not to rush to judgment on the assault on the Capitol that took place Wednesday afternoon and to wait for an investigation.

“All may not be (and likely is not) what appears,” he said on Twitter Thursday morning. “Evidence growing that fascist ANTIFA orchestrated Capitol attack with clever mob control tactics.”

Here’s the evidence he cited on Twitter:

Brooks says that on Monday he was warned by a fellow congressman whom he did not name of “a growing ANTIFA threat” and was advised to sleep in his office and not leave Capitol complex. Brooks reported that he heeded that advice and has slept on his office floor for four straight nights.

On Tuesday, Brooks says that a Capitol Police officer warned congressman “that intelligence suggested fascist ANTIFA was going to try to infiltrate the Trump rally by dressing like Trump supporters.”

On the same day, Brooks says Capitol Police advised that “it [was] best not to leave [the] Capitol complex.”

Finally, Brooks referenced “Evidence, much public, surfacing that many Capitol assaulters were fascist ANTIFAs, not Trump supporters.”

      1. I have said for years, and continue to say, for the first week (at least) after such an “earthshaking” event all we get are rumors, gossip, and lies.

    1. Reichstag Fire, check.

      Coming soon, Kristallnacht.

The Left varies the names, but the playbook is quite predictable.
