State employees ordered to wear masks during meetings. Online meetings they are attending from home.

The head of the Wisconsin DNR sent out an e-mail recently reminding employees of the Governor’s mask mandate. It also pointed out that;

“Also, wear your mask, even if you are home, to participate in a virtual meeting that involves being seen — such as on Zoom or another video-conferencing platform — by non-DNR staff,” Cole told his employees. “Set the safety example which shows you as a DNR public service employee care about the safety and health of others.”

So there you have it. Working from home, alone in the house, but you’re on a Zoom meeting? Better mask up. This COVID has morphed into a computer transmissible virus. The CDC has not prepared me for that. Dr. Fauci! Why have you forsaken me?!?

  1. This reminds of the old army legend about the General who decided to tell his subordinates to let the troops know that a lunar eclipse would take place at 0200 if they wanted to see it. By the time his “suggestion” worked its way down the chain of command it had turned into mandatory training in full battle rattle with concurrent training sessions set up

    1. It being Wisconsin, someone should remind the governor it makes it hard to drink beer.

    1. The proud but humble woman owned business that sells software to the federal government formerly located on Wilson Lane in Bethesda Maryland was a pioneer in working from home, social distancing from employees (and pesky government inspectors) and the implementation of mandatory mask wearing. That last one just became a requirement after the company Vice President had some leftover Chipotle Atomic Burritos for breakfast, and blew up the conference room. The blast was toxic it knocked the door off of the mailbox at the curb. Talk about a hostile work environment.

  2. This is all about virtue-signaling and making a good “show.”

It’s just a mask. And it’s for the “greater good!” Now, be a compliant little sheep!

          1. Not a good idea to poke the “Mama Bear”, tho in the grand scheme of things, I don’t think M’Lady gives a rat’s hinny about the National Felon League.

On the other hand a big cheer of GO ARMY BEAT NAVY is subject to get her attention!

Interesting. I live here in the Cheesehead state, and here are some of the original rules/orders/mandates put out by Evers concerning mask wearing.

“Under Evers’ order, face masks will be required for anyone age 5 or older while indoors except at a private residence.”

“Other exemptions include members of the state Legislature and the state judiciary, as well as eating and drinking, for speakers at religious services, reporters delivering news reports and people who have breathing issues, among others.”

No where does it say that you have to wear a mask, at home, while video tele-conferencing.

Power grab by DNR Secretary Preston?

    1. In the case of Wisconsin’s video conference mask mandate, I would think it would stand for “Do Not Resuscitate”.

  4. Zoom meeting begins…

    E4 has joined
Me: Sorry my video isn’t working, but I still can see you see you guys. Let’s get the show on the road.

Nothing a piece of tape wouldn’t fix

  5. Got an email from one of the hams I know with a list for the virus safety. One was to put a mask over the mike and sit 6 feet from the table. I forgot the others and I should have put it in the Archive with all the other garbage.

  6. Per Dictionary.com:

    Bureaucrat
    [ byoor-uh-krat ]
    noun
    1. an official of a bureaucracy.
    2. an official who works by fixed routine without exercising intelligent judgment.

  7. When I first saw this story I was sure someone got trolled 1000% by their staff.

I’m still not sure that isn’t the case, but no one has come out and said anything to contradict the story….sooooooooooo….

I’ll explain it to everyone one more time. My mask protects ME, not YOU. In point of fact, the literature on cloth masks is now showing that cloth masks protect no one, but hey…who am I to argue with the “$cience”…LOL

  8. Uhh, well, no.

There’s a great deal we do not know about this virus. But I am almost certin that it is not transmittable via the internet. Unless all those computers have some sort of unknown secret something in them placed by the same guys who made the virus that allows the unimaginable transmission of the germ they sent to us via electronic device. If that is the case, maybe we should all mask up every time we use our computers. Or any other device. Sure.
