How long before the SJW Howler Monkeys come along and want to see This War Memorial scrapped and the money spent on the Free Sh^t Army?

Cool Linky M’Lady. You know how I am about floating Artillery Platforms. Tanks!

My bucket list had a visit to the South Dakota Class USS Alabama in Mobile Bay. Maybe I’ll make it while I’m still a little mobile. Seeing the Big Mo would be cool too, but that ain’t never gonna happen.

Jeff

When i was in elementary school I collected aluminum cans to “Save the Battleship Texas”. Collected 200 pounds of cans. The fun part was getting to stomp them flat in the backyard before taking them to the recycler. Still have the button they gave me for helping.

We used to stomp them so they would stick to
our shoes and walk around on them driving the
adults crazy.

The Other Whitey

My Dad and I went in halves on a USS Texas commemorative Henry .22 wallhanger a couple years back, when she flooded and settled overnight. Also bugged our congressman about diverting some federal pork to get her dry-berthed, not that it did any good.

In an example of real Russian meddling, Wargaming.net has held multiple online fundraisers via World of Warships to help save the Texas as well.

She’s stuck in the mud and it’s destroying her hull below the waterline.
Sad that no Texas super rich oil man has stepped up to make the rescue happen.
I’ve been there twice, the Stephen F Austin memorial is there too. Really neat places and close to Houston.

Well it didn’t sink so that damn cat from the
other thread wasn’t on her.
