Gretchen Whitmer\u2019s dozens of executive orders that have, among other things, closed barber shops and salons.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019d gone six weeks without a paycheck with no money coming in. I\u2019ve been in this business 59 years&#8230;I\u2019m 77. I\u2019ve always worked,\u201d he commented. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese executive orders are not a suggestion. They\u2019re not optional, they\u2019re not helpful hints.\u201d said Governor Whitmer.<\/p>\n<p>The Michigan Attorney General has a different idea.<\/p>\n<p>AW1 Rod sends.<\/p>\n<h3>State seeks new court hearing after judge rules in favor of Owosso barber shop<\/h3>\n<p><strong>By Roberto Acosta<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>OWOSSO, MI \u2013 The Michigan Attorney General\u2019s Office wants a new court hearing on a public health order seeking to shut down an Owosso barber.<\/p>\n<p>The state wants the hearing after Shiawassee County Circuit Court Judge Matthew J. Stewart turned down a request Monday, May 11, from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services for a temporary restraining order that would have required Karl Manke to cease all operations at his shop.<\/p>\n<p>Ryan Jarvi, press secretary for Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel, said Tuesday that the state is seeking the court hearing as soon as possible.<\/p>\n<p>David A. Kallman, Manke\u2019s attorney, said he\u2019s been in communication with the Michigan Attorney General\u2019s Office and the court.<\/p>\n<p>A Zoom meeting is planned for Wednesday between the lawyers and Judge Stewart to determine if an emergency preliminary injunction hearing will take place or a status conference is set for a future date to hear arguments from both sides.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur point of view would be, what\u2019s the point of that?\u201d said Kallman. \u201cThe judge has turned down your first emergency injunction.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Heh.
