Kalashnikov PL-14<\/a><\/p>\n Evans County deputy fatally shoots man who attacked him with rocks, GBI says<\/strong><\/p>\n By Shaddi Abusaid The fatal officer-involved shooting occurred shortly before 1 a.m. when the sheriff\u2019s office responded to the intersection of Ga. 169 and Archie Mitchell Road in Claxton after receiving a call about a man standing in the middle of the roadway, authorities said. <\/p>\n The deputy arrived and and located 47-year-old Yassin Mohamad, who reportedly had several encounters with law enforcement in the 12 hours leading up to the incident. \u201cWhen the deputy attempted to make contact with Mohamad, he fled from the deputy and an altercation ultimately ensued,\u201d the GBI said Saturday in a news release.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n 1 \/ 0 \/ 0 Man fatally shot, another injured in Bonne Terre Friday<\/strong><\/p>\n Bobby Radford According to Bonne Terre Police Chief Doug Calvert, officers were dispatched to a residence on South Long Street just before 12:30 a.m. in reference to a stabbing\/gunshot situation in progress.<\/p>\n A male subject in his mid-30s, who has now been identified as Nick Wann, had reportedly been shot in the chest. <\/p>\n Calvert said Wann reportedly entered the residence and “slashed and cut” a man at the residence, also believed to be in his mid-30s. Officers believe the injured man then retrieved a handgun and shot Wann. The two men knew each other.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n 1 \/ 0 \/ 0 Concealed-carry holder claims self-defense after gunfire kills 16-year-old boy in Ashburn: police<\/strong> By David Struett The 16-year-old boy was a passenger in a vehicle when someone shot him in the head about 10:35 a.m. in the 3900 block of West 83rd Street, Chicago police said.<\/p>\n A female driver took him to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said.<\/p>\n Rodrigo Rangel was pronounced dead at 11 a.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner\u2019s office.<\/p>\n A 45-year-old concealed-carry holder who was seated in another vehicle claims someone fired at him first, but detectives are working to verify those allegations, police said. He was arrested, but no charges have been filed.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
