Hold off on snagging a few, willya?<\/p>\n<p>The casserole suits a chilly climate like the one I&#8217;m in now. There are many, many ways to fix a one-dish meal, and the casserole is the best choice because you can expand the volume to provide a table full of people with a good, hearty meal.<\/p>\n<p>So here&#8217;s your first one, which is quite good.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Creamy Ground Beef Noodle Casserole<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Comfort&#8221; is the key word for this creamy ground beef and noodle casserole that makes a memorable meal out of simple ingredients.<\/p>\n<p>By\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bettycrocker.com\/about-us\">Betty Crocker Kitchens<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Updated October 5, 2016<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>8 <\/strong>oz uncooked farfalle pasta (about 2 1\/2 cups)<\/p>\n<p><strong>1 <\/strong>lb ground beef<\/p>\n<p><strong>1 <\/strong>can (15 oz) Muir Glen\u2122 organic tomato sauce<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00bd <\/strong>teaspoon garlic salt<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00bc <\/strong>teaspoon black pepper<\/p>\n<p><strong>1 <\/strong>cup sour cream$<\/p>\n<p><strong>1 <\/strong>cup cottage cheese<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00bd<\/strong> cup shredded Parmesan cheese<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00be<\/strong> cup sliced green onions<\/p>\n<p><strong>1 \u00bd<\/strong> cups shredded Cheddar cheese (12 oz)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Steps<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>1 &#8211; <\/strong>Heat oven to 350\u00b0F. Spray 13&#215;9-inch baking dish or 2 1\/2 to 3-quart casserole with cooking spray. Cook pasta until al dente, about 11 minutes; drain, and set aside.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2 &#8211; <\/strong>Meanwhile, in 10-inch nonstick skillet, cook beef over medium-high heat 5 to 7 minutes, stirring frequently, until no longer pink; drain. Stir in tomato sauce, garlic salt and pepper; cover and simmer 2 to 3 minutes or until slightly thickened.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3 &#8211; <\/strong>In large bowl, mix sour cream, cottage cheese, Parmesan cheese and 1\/2 cup of the green onions; stir in cooked pasta.<\/p>\n<p><strong>4 &#8211; <\/strong>Spoon half of the pasta mixture into baking dish. Top with half of the beef mixture and 3\/4 cup of the Cheddar cheese. Repeat with pasta mixture, beef mixture and remaining 3\/4 cup Cheddar cheese. Bake uncovered 25 to 30 minutes or until mixture is thoroughly heated and cheese is melted. Top with remaining 1\/4 cup green onions, and serve.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Expert Tips<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Wide egg noodles or mafalda pasta would also work in this recipe.<\/li>\n<li>Stir 1\/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper into beef mixture for a spicy kick.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>That&#8217;s a hearty dish.\u00a0 Here&#8217;s another, which I&#8217;ve posted before and several of you seem to really like it as much as I do. It&#8217;s a stovetop dish, using one skillet. Easy cleanup, and yes, it is even better the next day.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Basic one-skillet mild or sweet Italian sausage and pasta<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.readyseteat.com\/recipes-One-Skillet-Italian-Sausage-Pasta-7397\">https:\/\/www.readyseteat.com\/recipes-One-Skillet-Italian-Sausage-Pasta-7397<\/a><\/p>\n<p>1-1\/4 cups water<\/p>\n<p>1 can (14.5 oz each) Hunt&#8217;s\u00ae Diced Tomatoes with Basil, Garlic and Oregano, undrained<\/p>\n<p>1 cup Hunt&#8217;s\u00ae Tomato Sauce<\/p>\n<p>8 ounces dry penne pasta, uncooked (any short pasta will do if you can&#8217;t find penne)<\/p>\n<p>1\/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese<\/p>\n<p>3\/4 pound Italian pork sausage<\/p>\n<p><strong>DIRECTIONS:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>STEP ONE:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Heat large skillet over medium-high heat. Add sausage; cook 5 minutes, breaking apart with spoon to crumble. Drain; return to skillet.<\/p>\n<p><strong>STEP TWO:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Add water, undrained tomatoes, tomato sauce and pasta to skillet; stir to combine. Bring to a boil. Cover; reduce heat and cook 15 minutes or until pasta is tender.<\/p>\n<p><strong>STEP THREE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Serve with additional Parmesan cheese, if desired.
