Both were IMO exceptional talents, both as singers and composers.<\/p>\n<p>I wasn\u2019t quite as big a fan of Queen\u2019s music (though much of it is excellent also).  But the late Freddy Mercury was indeed an exceptional vocalist as well as a fine songwriter.<\/p>\n<p>Both Mercury and Lennox collaborated with Bowie on the tune &#8220;Under Pressure&#8221;.  Mercury and Bowie did the original; Lennox and Bowie performed an exceptional version of the tune at Mercury&#8217;s tribute concert.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s not often you see a vocal performance that might outshine all three. She\u2019s an accomplished session musician (mostly on bass guitar), and has also released a few albums as a solo artist.  She toured with Bowie from 1995 until his death in 2016.<\/p>\n<p>And as the video above shows, Ms. Dorsey can also sing wonderfully.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The late David Bowie and Annie Lennox are two of my favorite vocalists.
