Suspected burglar shot by Spokane homeowner told deputies he thought he was in friend’s house<\/strong><\/p>\n

SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. – The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office says a homeowner shot a suspected burglar after discovering him in his kitchen late Saturday night in West Spokane.<\/p>\n

Deputies responded to the report of a burglary in progress at a home in the 2600 block of N. Colville Rd. around 11:55 p.m. on Saturday, April 4.<\/p>\n

A victim said her husband was armed and had located an unknown male, later identified as 29-year-old Kenneth B. Caldero, inside the home. As deputies responded, a 911 operator advised two shots had been fired, and Caldero had reportedly fled from the home after being shot in the groin.<\/p>\n

Deputies located Caldero upon arrival, who was yelling for help and bleeding profusely from his thigh a short distance from the home. After being detained safely, deputies gave medical attention to Caldero applying a tourniquet with assistance from an Airway Heights Police officer. Medical personnel arrived shortly after and attended to Caldero.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Pizza shop owner shoots attempted robber in Wissinoming, police say<\/strong><\/p>\n

WISSINOMING – Authorities say a 16-year-old is in stable condition after he was shot by a pizza shop owner during an attempted robbery.<\/p>\n

According to police, the incident happened on the 5800 block of Torresdale Avenue just after 10:30 p.m.<\/p>\n

The teen allegedly tried to rob the store at gunpoint when the owner shot him once in the top of the left hand.<\/p>\n

Police say the shop owner is legally authorized to carry a firearm.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Man charged in fatal shooting that left 1 dead, 1 injured outside DeKalb home<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nDeKalb County police have charged a 22-year-old in connection with a drive-by shooting that left one man dead and another injured Monday evening outside a home near Stone Mountain. <\/p>\n

Carey Darnell Jackson III of Lithonia, was arrested Tuesday evening, DeKalb police spokeswoman Michaela Vincent said. <\/p>\n

According to police, the two victims were standing outside a home on Needle Rock Drive about 11:45 p.m. when Jackson drove up and shot them before speeding off.One of the men, 20-year-old Arnold Leslie III, of Snellville, later died at the hospital The other suffered minor injuries in the shooting. His name was not released.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
