Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough questioned the enthusiasm behind the support for an antimalarial drug to treat this pandemic. Patients treated with this medication raved the effectiveness of this drug. Result? Regardless of demographics or party affiliation, there is growing support for the use of hydroxychloroquine to treat the coronavirus.<\/p>\n

However, not everybody is sold on this drug. Mika Brzezinski tied President Trump’s support for this drug to potential financial connections. The article points out that medical experts emphasized that there is a lack of solid evidence.<\/p>\n

Brzezinski and husband Joe Scarborough opened their MSNBC show on Monday with a discussion on the warring factions in the White House after Axios reported Navarro and Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, clashed over hydroxychloroquine. Scarborough repeatedly called it an “unproven drug” and said it “doesn’t work for” the virus. Brzezinski accused Trump of being involved with the drug monetarily to explain his support for the drug.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

“A lot of people would say, follow the money<\/span><\/strong>,” she said. “There’s got to be some sort of financial tie to someone somewhere that has the president pushing this repeatedly<\/span>.<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

Scarborough questioned<\/span><\/span> why cable news outlets were still broadcasting the near-daily White House coronavirus task force briefings at which the president promotes the “unproven drug.”<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

At a White House coronavirus task force briefing on Sunday, Trump announced the administration had purchased “a tremendous amount” of hydroxychloroquine, which will be distributed to the states after the Food and Drug Administration issued an emergency approval for its use among coronavirus patients. The president has touted the drug as a possible treatment to the coronavirus, despite a lack of evidence.<\/p>\n

“We have it stockpiled — about 29 million doses. We have a lot of it. We hope it works<\/span><\/strong>,” Trump said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

If you were seriously ill with this new coronavirus, and nothing else worked, would you give hydroxychloroquine and other proven medication a try? Especially if those who recovered described its effectiveness? This is a simple enough question, but to those who oppose President Trump, there has to be “another” reason.<\/p>\n
