I don’t suppose Mayor Turner will have much luck, like Chicago’s Mayor Lightfoot urging Chicagoans to “love each other with all our hearts” during the fight to slow the spread of COVID-19, and Baltomore’s Mayor Jack Young begging for a shooting truce after seven people were shot and wounded in his city.<\/p>\n

Houston Mayor Pleads with Criminals to \u2018Chill\u2019 Until Coronavirus Pandemic Over<\/h3>\n

Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner (D) on Sunday urged would-be criminals to remain in their homes and \u201cchill\u201d until the Chinese coronavirus epidemic subsides in the Texas city.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe best way to help police officers is to not commit a crime,\u201d Turner told reporters during a press conference on his city\u2019s latest efforts to combat the deadly illness. \u201cUntil the coronavirus is resolved, criminals, take a break.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cStay home and don\u2019t commit any crimes. Thay way, they will stay safe and out of jail and police offers will stay safe and go home to there families,\u201d the mayor added. \u201cCrooks, criminals, you chill.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Presumably after the virus has run its course the criminals will be able to return to their normal activities.<\/p>\n
