Bel Air man slashes would-be burglar Wednesday with knife, will not be charged, sheriff\u2019s office says<\/strong><\/p>\n By JAMES WHITLOW Deputies responded to the 1200 block of Athens Court in Bel Air around 11:50 p.m. for a report of an attempted burglary. As they drove there, deputies were told the person was still trying to force his way into the house.<\/p>\n When they got there, deputies saw 38-year-old Mark Brandenberg of Bel Air still trying to gain entry to the home, police said.<\/p>\n Brandenburg was bleeding from apparent knife wounds to his upper body and taken to University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Medical Center. He was later transferred to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center for treatment. He is now in stable condition, police said.<\/p>\n The initial investigation determined that Brandenberg approached Stephen Brown, a 26-year-old who lived nearby, and demanded money from him, according to police. \nTOME\u2014An attempted burglary in Tom\u00e9 Sunday morning has left one Valencia County man dead
\nand another in custody.
\nValencia County deputies were called to a burglary in progress on N.M. 47 in Tom\u00e9 shortly after 7 a.m., Sunday, March 22. When they arrived, deputies found Jason Shadron, 41, of Los Lunas, dead in the front seat of a stolen pickup truck.<\/p>\n
\nidentified a second suspect \u2014 Sammy Armijo, 40, of Los Chavez \u2014 who fled on foot.
\nThe department isn\u2019t releasing many details about the Sunday shooting since it is still under
\ninvestigation, the lieutenant said.<\/p>\n
