Police: Two shot in Hamilton during home invasion<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nTwo men were shot late Tuesday night after apparently breaking into a Hamilton residence.<\/p>\n

A resident at a house in the 500 block of Buckeye Street said at about 11:10 p.m. the two suspects forced entry into his house and attempted to rob him, according to the police report.<\/p>\n

The two suspects were both shot and sustained non-life threatening injuries, according to Sgt. Richard Burkhardt. One man was transported to an area hospital from the scene, and another showed up later at a hospital.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Burglar shot trying to break into Atlantic County home dies from injuries, authorities say<\/p>\n

\nA man shot while allegedly committing a burglary in Mullica Township later died of his injuries, authorities said.<\/p>\n

Paul Destefano, 30, of Mullica Township broke into a home on the 3000 block of Moores Avenue early Monday morning and was shot by a \u201ccivilian.” He was taken to Atlanticare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City after someone called 911 to report the incident around 3 a.m., according to a statement from the Atlantic County Prosecutor\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n

Destefano died at the hospital on Wednesday and the cause and manner of his death were still pending the results of an autopsy that was expected to be completed later this week, the office said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Citizen holds man at gun point after Sumter police chase<\/strong>
\nThe suspect had over four pounds of marijuana in his car<\/em><\/p>\n

The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office seized more than four pounds of marijuana after a driver wrecked his car trying to evade a traffic stop and have a citizen to thank for helping with the capture. <\/p>\n

According to the report, Christopher Pressley-Coiuncil, 23, failed to stop for blue lights after a Sumter deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop. <\/p>\n

After Pressley-Coiuncil took off the the deputy followed and the chase reached speeds of more than 100 mph. <\/p>\n

The deputy stopped pursuing Pressley-Council for the safety of the public but resumed the chase after Pressley-Council disregarded traffic lights on Mason Road and almost caused a wreck. <\/p>\n

Pressley-Council did crash his vehicle into the tree line at Ebenezer Road and Camden Highway. <\/p>\n

The crash turned his car onto its side, and the driver took off. <\/p>\n

After deputies began looking for Pressley-Council, they found a resident in the area had him at gunpoint on his front porch. The resident said that Pressley-Council offered him $2,000 to hide him in the house, according to the report. <\/p>\n

Pressley-Council was transported to Prisma Health Toumey for possible injuries sustained during the wreck.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
