The folks at Military Phony<\/a> send us their work on this Robert Eugene Morgan fella.\u00a0 Robert, who seems to go by “Bob” comes to us from Kingsland, Georgia.<\/p>\n

Bob was featured in an article in The Brunswick News<\/a> in which they spoke about his time as a US Navy SEAL.<\/p>\n

The military claims were summarized at the beginning of the article.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Since a Robert Morgan was not listed in the BUD\/S-SEAL database during the time that he served, his story took on some doubt.\u00a0 NOTE: There was someone by that name that went to BUD\/S but that was way before our little Bobby here joined the Navy.<\/p>\n

His military records were ordered through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request with the National Personnel Records Center (NPRC).<\/p>\n

In addition, the Department of Defense Manpower Data Center \/ SCRA was checked for service dates.<\/p>\n

DISCUSSION and SUMMARY<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Morgan\u2019s official military records from the National Personnel Records Center (NPRC) do not support many of his claims.<\/p>\n

Time in Service<\/strong><\/p>\n

The service time that he claims of six (6) years is not supported. Several official records show that he served from 1984-1988.<\/p>\n

Rank<\/strong><\/p>\n

Morgan\u2019s records show that he was enlisted and was discharged as an AMH3 (E-4) which is a Aviation Structural Mechanic Third Class. His records do not support the claim that he was a Second Class Petty officer (E-5) which is one enlisted pay grade above his actual rank at discharge.<\/p>\n

Medals<\/strong><\/p>\n

The article about Morgan claimed that he had earned the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal; Navy Expeditionary Medal (two times); Meritorious Unit Commendation (six times); Navy Unit Commendation (five times); Good Conduct Medal; National Defense Service Medal.<\/p>\n

His records actually show he was awarded the Meritorious Unit Commendation (one time); the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (not claimed); and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal. The rest of the medals claimed were not listed in Morgan\u2019s official military records.<\/p>\n

Navy SEAL<\/strong><\/p>\n

Morgan\u2019s records show no training as a Navy SEAL nor any duty assignments as a Navy SEAL, yet the newspaper article claims he was a SEAL and injured on a covert SEAL mission in Libya. As mentioned before, he was not found in the BUD\/S-SEAL database when it was checked.<\/p>\n

Purple Heart<\/strong><\/p>\n

Morgan\u2019s records show no listing of a Purple Heart. Although he claimed that he was injured and denied a Purple Heart because the U.S. was not technically at war with Libya, it is really a story implying that he rated one but there was somehow an honorable reason why he did not have one.<\/p>\n

The Purple Heart medal is covered by the Stolen Valor Act of 2013<\/a>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Bobby should have just been proud of what he actually did do.\u00a0 I am guessing he participated in Operation “EL DORADO CANYON<\/a>”\u00a0 because of his Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal.<\/a> He served during a time when most wouldn’t.<\/p>\n

We hear he likes to run his suck about all kinds of nonsense.\u00a0 Lots of veterans served from the mid 70’s through the 80’s when there was not a lot of positive recognition for doing so.\u00a0 \u00a0They did their duty and served honorably.\u00a0 I can tell you that I served with a lot of Marines better than I ever was during those years.\u00a0 \u00a0Most of them ended their tour of duty with little more than a Good Conduct Medal.<\/p>\n

Turns my stomach when clowns like Bob Morgan besmirch their service.<\/p>\n

Much respect to those who served during that forgotten Era and did so with dignity and humility.<\/p>\n
