Two men shot by Washington Park business owner during attempted burglary, police said<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nTwo men were shot by the owner of a Washington Park salvage yard early Tuesday when they tried to burglarize the business, police said. One of the men died.<\/p>\n

The dead man was identified as Darnel R. Gully of the 700 block of N. 71st Street in East St. Louis, according to St. Clair County Coroner Calvin Dye Sr.<\/p>\n

Gully was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:53 a.m. in the 1900 block of Kingshighway, Dye said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are in the early stages of a police investigation,\u201d Bonds said.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s what police have learned so far:<\/p>\n

\u201cSometime between 1:30 a.m. and 3:30 a.m., two men hopped the fence of a salvage yard in the 1800 block of Kingshighway,\u201d Bonds said. \u201cThe owner was at the business and started shooting when the men hopped over his fence. He struck both of them, but didn\u2019t know he did.<\/p>\n

\u201cBoth suspects ran and hopped over the fence to get out. One ran one way and the other fell the other way,\u201d Bonds said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Man killed in Melbourne home invasion shooting, police say<\/strong>
\nShooting happened at Eagles Nest Condominiums<\/em><\/p>\n

A man was fatally shot during a home invasion at Eagle Nest Condominiums Monday night, according to the Melbourne Police Department.<\/p>\n

Police said after the shooting was reported around 10:19 p.m., they learned that the isolated incident involved a resident and several others in what is believed to be a home invasion.<\/p>\n

The man who was fatally shot — 22-year-old Evan Jackman, of Rockledge — was described by authorities as a suspect.<\/p>\n

Detectives are conducting interviews and attempting to identify and locate the others who were involved in the incident, according to a news release.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

County prosecutor finds Grand Rapids intruder shooting justified<\/strong>
\nKent County Chris Becker call the shooting justified in a detailed report of the incident.<\/em><\/p>\n

The man who shot an intruder who pushed his way into a home is justified in fatally shooting him, the county prosecutor said Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Kent County Prosecutor Chris Becker said his office will not be filing criminal charges out of the shooting. Becker detailed his decision in a press release March 17.<\/p>\n

Matthew Jakubowksi shot and killed Adam Whitz, after Whitz pushed his way into his ex-girlfriend Anastasia Hahn’s home. Jakubowski and Hahn were living in the home together as a couple and according to the prosecutor’s detailing of the situation, Whitz had come to her home on multiple occasions and caused disturbances<\/p>\n

On Jan. 8 around 2:20 a.m., Grand Rapids Police were called to Hahn’s house on Houseman Avenue NE reports that her ex-boyfriend had been shot while breaking into her home. When officers arrived, they located Whitz on the floor in the living room with a gunshot wound to the right side of his upper chest. He was pronounced dead at the scene. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n
