APD: Couple shoots 3, kills 2 after attempted home invasion<\/strong><\/p>\n

AUSTIN (KXAN) \u2014 Police say people living in a northeast Austin apartment shot three people breaking into their home, killing two of them. A man and woman died Tuesday night in the attempted home invasion.<\/p>\n

The third person who was shot, a man, was treated for non life-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n

Police say the shooting took place inside a unit at the Creekside on Parmer Lane apartment complex at 10:30 p.m. Police say people inside the unit fired the shots but did not say who they were, how many people fired a gun, or how many shots were fired.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey were running around everywhere, ambulances and everything,\u201d said Witness Tyler Watts. \u201cWith their assault riffles running, they were huge.\u201d<\/p>\n

Police had the majority of the complex blocked off with crime scene tape.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Employee shoots man trying to climb into drive-thru window, Fort Worth police say<\/strong>
\nThe man was taken to the hospital in serious condition, according to officials.<\/em><\/p>\n

FORT WORTH, Texas \u2014 An employee shot a man who tried to force his way in through a drive-thru window early Wednesday, Fort Worth police said. <\/p>\n

The J&K Food Store’s drive-thru was the only part of the store open around 2:15 a.m. when a man tried to climb inside, police said. <\/p>\n

An employee called 911 and, fearing for his safety, shot the man in his side, according to police. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Married off-duty cops stop armed robbery during date night<\/strong>
\nDetective Chase McKeown and Officer Nicole McKeown were enjoying a weekly date night when they noticed something was wrong and sprung into action.<\/em><\/p>\n

\nTwo married off-duty police officers have been praised for thwarting an armed robbery during a date at a fast food restaurant in Louisville, Kentucky.<\/p>\n

Detective Chase McKeown and Officer Nicole McKeown of Elizabethtown Police Department were enjoying a weekly date night on Feb. 15 at a branch of Raising Cane\u2019s restaurant when they noticed something was wrong and sprung into action.<\/p>\n

A man wearing a surgical mask and black hooded sweater pulled low over his face can be seen in surveillance video released by Louisville Metro Police Department entering the popular fried chicken restaurant and appearing to threaten staff with a gun while pointing repeatedly at the cash register.<\/p>\n

“That\u2019s where that repetitiveness and that training kicks in,\u201d Nicole McKeown told NBC’s Louisville affiliate WAVE.<\/p>\n

The McKeowns can then be seen standing up at the same time from their back booth and brandishing their weapons while running through the restaurant towards the suspect.<\/p>\n

The suspect, whom police identified to WAVE as Justin Carter, is seen in the video running out of the restaurant, with the couple in pursuit. Carter made his first appearance in court related to the case on Monday.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
