Detectives: Golden Stop Liquor shooting \u2018self-defense\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nDetectives investigating the Golden Stop Liquor shooting that occurred Feb. 2 believe the store owner acted in self-defense when he reportedly shot and killed a suspect during a robbery.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019ll be presented to the district attorney,\u201d sheriff\u2019s Lt. Robert Westphal said, adding that he doubts the district attorney will press charges against the store owner.<\/p>\n

Based on his investigation, Westphal believes the store owner acted in self-defense during a shootout in the store that left a store employee shot one time in a \u201clower appendage,\u201d and the alleged robbery suspect \u2014 identified by the coroner as Brandon Nicholas Burris, 25, of Canyon Country \u2014 shot six times in the upper torso.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Officials: 55-Year-Old Man Shot Dead After Allegedly Forcing Himself Inside Collegeville Home<\/strong><\/p>\n

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa, (CBS)\u2013 Officials in Montgomery County are investigating after a 55-year-old man was found dead inside of a Collegeville home Saturday night. Police say they responded to a home on East 3rd Avenue around 11:30 p.m. for reports of a shooting.<\/p>\n

When officers arrived they found the victim suffering from gunshot wounds and pronounced him dead at the scene.<\/p>\n

According to officials, initial reports suggest that the victim was forcing his way inside of the home when he was shot by someone inside.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

1 killed during shooting at Greenway-area store, police say<\/strong><\/p>\n

HOUSTON \u2013 An incident at a pawn shop in Houston\u2019s Greenway area climaxed in a shooting that left on person dead Saturday, according to officials.<\/p>\n

The shooting happened around 3 p.m. at a pawn shop in the 3800 block of Richmond Avenue, near the intersection of Richmond Avenue and Weslayan Street.<\/p>\n

Shortly before the shooting, an argument unfurled between pawn shop employees and several customers, police said. Soon after, shots were fired by employees and a truck backed into the pawn shop\u2019s storefront.<\/p>\n

Neville Li works at Pepper Tree Vegan Cuisine right next to the Pawn shop and recalls hearing the shots. \u201cWe heard two gun shots and I saw a truck ramming into the store next to us and it broke all the windows,\u201d said Li.<\/p>\n

A suspect fled the scene in a truck following the shooting. Police recovered that vehicle near the pawn shop, but are still searching for the suspect.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
