Homeowner shoots suspected burglar at northeast Houston home<\/strong> Author: Doug Delony Officers with the Houston Police Department responded to the 1800 block of Capron at about 1:30 a.m. Thursday. They found a man shot in the back.<\/p>\n A homeowner said earlier in the evening he heard a noise, and when he went to investigate he found the man reaching into his home where the A\/C unit is.<\/p>\n The homeowner went to the front of his house and retrieved a pistol. That’s when the homeowner confronted the alleged burglar and shot him.<\/p>\n The wounded suspect is expected to survive, according to Lt. R. Wilkens with HPD.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n 0 \/ 1 \/ 0 One dead after attempting to rob Fairmont, WV, business with fake gun<\/strong><\/p>\n FAIRMONT \u2014 A 75-year-old man was shot to death Wednesday morning after allegedly attempting to rob the West Side Trading Post Pawn Shop with a fake gun, according to police.<\/p>\n A statement released by the Fairmont Police Department said the man, whose name has not been released, attempted to rob the shop at around 11:42 a.m.<\/p>\n The release states that the man presented a fake \u2014 but realistic-looking \u2014 gun to the shop\u2019s owner behind the counter, who in turn drew his own gun and shot the older man multiple times.<\/p>\n When police responded to the scene, the man was found unresponsive inside the business, and he later died, according to the release.<\/p>\n While the investigation remains ongoing, the release states that there did seem to be reasonable use of deadly force on the part of the shop owner.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n 1 \/ 0 \/ 0 Home invasion suspect, posing as sheriff’s deputy, shot, killed by homeowner near Lindsay<\/strong><\/p>\n FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — A frightening situation for a Tulare County family started when they heard banging on their front door at around ten Tuesday night.<\/p>\n “They can hear them yelling ‘Sheriff’s Office, Sheriff’s Office,’ says Tulare County Sheriff’s Lt. Joe Torres. “The victims thought it was odd that it was late hours, so the suspects then forced their way into the living room area, they busted the front door.”<\/p>\n At this point, Torres says the homeowner knew for sure that the people at the door were not sheriff’s deputies, as they weren’t wearing law enforcement uniforms.<\/p>\n That’s when Torres says the homeowner and suspects started shooting at each other.<\/p>\n One suspect was hit in the upper body and died at the scene. The other suspects got away.<\/p>\n The homeowner’s wife, child, and another man were inside the house at the time.
