On a side note, Boris Johnson’s Brexit finally took place.\u00a0 He now wants a Free Trade Agreement with the EU. It may be that this is the crack in that wall.<\/p>\n

And at Oxford University, two Green students were demanding that the university divest itself of its holdings in gas and oil.<\/p>\n

From the article:\u00a0\u00a0Two students at St John\u2019s College wrote to Andrew Parker, the principal bursar, this week requesting a meeting to discuss the protesters\u2019 demands, which are that the college \u201cdeclares a climate emergency and immediately divests from fossil fuels\u201d. They say that the college, the richest in Oxford, has \u00a38 million of its \u00a3551 million endowment fund invested in\u00a0BP and Shell<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Professor Parker responded with a provocative offer. \u201cI am not able to arrange any divestment at short notice,\u201d he wrote. \u201cBut I can arrange for the gas central heating in college to be switched off with immediate effect. Please let me know if you support this proposal.\u201d – article<\/span><\/p>\n

From the article:\u00a0 State election officials have blocked the registration of roughly 4,700 16-year-olds whose information was sent to the board by the secretary of state\u2019s office through the automatic voter registration program, spokesman Matt Dietrich said Thursday.<\/p>\n

The issue was raised at the board\u2019s Wednesday meeting, where it also came to light that some U.S. citizens who were applying for licenses through the Real ID program had their information sent to the elections board despite opting out of automatic voter registration.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The revelations come as the program already is under scrutiny for a mix-up that resulted in 545 possible non-U.S. citizens being registered to vote. Of those, 15 voted in elections in November 2018 and spring 2019, including two in Chicago, officials have said. However, eight of those people voted in elections prior to the implementation of automatic voter registration. – article<\/div>\n
