Insulting Trump supporters for their support for the president would just solidify their support for the president, and motivate them to get others to come to the voting locations to vote for President Trump. (r\/The_Donald).<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

What would happen if a Fox News segment marked a certain demographic, that constantly supports Democrats, with a stereotype? Not just with this specific stereotype, but using derogatory terms used to describe this demographic?<\/p>\n

There’s a good chance that CNN and other liberal outlets would be “calling for the pitchfork brigade”. Conservatives would also be condemning the action.<\/p>\n

Over the weekend, Don Lemon’s show had Rick Wilson and Wajahat Ali as guests. In a portion of that segment, Trump supporters were portrayed as baby boomer Southerners with southern accents, “who just didn’t know any better”.<\/p>\n

In contrast, they painted themselves as being knowledgeable and more educated\u2026 Then parodied themselves being talked about while using phony southern accents. They were portraying the speaker, those that they were insulting, as people who “didn’t know any better”.<\/p>\n

Here is a transcript of the exchange, if playing the video is not practical:<\/span><\/p>\n

Rick Wilson:<\/b> He also knows deep in his heart that Donald Trump couldn’t find Ukraine on the map if you have the letter “U” and a picture of an actual physical crane next to it. He knows that this is, you know, an administration defined by ignorance of the world, and so, that’s partly him playing to their base and playing to their audience of, you know, the, the, credulous Boomer rube demo (demographics) that backs Donald Trump. Um, that wants to think that, that, Donald Trump is the smart one and you all elitists are dumb.<\/p>\n

Wajahat Ali:<\/b> You elitists with your geography and your maps and your spelling, even though my<\/p>\n

Rick Wilson:<\/b> Your [inaudible] your reading…<\/p>\n

Wajahat Ali:<\/b> Yeah, your reading, you know, your geography, knowing other countries, sipping your Latte…<\/p>\n

Rick Wilson:<\/b> All those lines on the map,<\/p>\n

Wajahat Ali:<\/b> Only them elitists know where Ukraine is<\/p>\n
