Instead of turning them over to the Senate as prescribed by the Constitution, San Fran Nan is withholding the two Articles of Impeachment voted on just last night, accusing Trump of abuse of Presidential power and obstruction of Congress, neither of which rise to \u201ctreason, bribery, and other high crimes and misdemeanors.\u201d<\/p>\n
She claims that Senate Republicans are unlikely to conduct a so-called \u201cfair\u201d trial, a pretty extreme position considering the Star Chamber-like Impeachment Hearings conducted by her henchmen, Congressmen Schiff and Nadler.<\/p>\n

The California Democrat said she is waiting to see what procedures will be adopted for the Senate trial.<\/span><\/p>\n Her remarks echo her own comments made Wednesday evening, when she was noncommittal on transmitting the impeachment articles, citing claims that Senate Republicans are unlikely to conduct a so-called \u201cfair\u201d trial, a term which House Democrats have thrown around in recent days.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019ll make that decision as a group, as we always have, as we go along,\u201d she told reporters after last night\u2019s vote.\u00a0\u201cSo far we haven\u2019t seen anything that looks fair to us.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Prior to Pelosi\u2019s press conference, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) denounced the impeachment vote and blasted the speaker for being \u201ctoo afraid\u201d to send \u201ctheir shoddy work product to the Senate.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThe framers built the Senate to provide stability,\u201d McConnell said<\/a> in a Senate floor speech. \u201cTo keep partisan passions from boiling over.
