Police: Dad defending family wrestled home intruders, grabbing and firing gun<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nCOBB COUNTY, Ga. – A father protected his family from a pair of home intruders when he wrestled one of the men, took his gun and fired it, Smyrna police said.<\/p>\n

Sgt. Louis Defense told Channel 2\u2019s Chris Jose the department is still working to identify the second suspect.<\/p>\n

The home invasion took place on Nov. 23 in the 2300 block of Cobb Parkway in Smyrna, an arrest warrant shows.<\/p>\n

Police identified one of the suspects as Antoine Brooks-Webb.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe aggressively, and violently, with evil intentions, entered into the home,\u201d said Defense.<\/p>\n

Brooks demanded money and threatened a man, his wife and their son, police said.<\/p>\n

According to the warrant, he said if the parents did not meet his demands, \u201cThe child would be shot.\u201d<\/p>\n

Defense told Jose the boy\u2019s father fought back.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Authorities probe fatal Lanier shooting <\/strong><\/p>\n

\nLAKELAND \u2014 Authorities are investigating a deadly shooting incident that took place Saturday in Lanier County.<\/p>\n

Just before 10 p.m., deputies were dispatched to Ga. 168 near River Road, where several people said a fight had taken place in a roadway between two people who were related by marriage, according to a Lanier County Sheriff’s Office statement. One of the men had been shot.<\/p>\n

Interviews indicate one of the men had been agitated while attending a birthday party at the residence and was eventually told to leave the home.<\/p>\n

A short while later, while the homeowner and others were in the driveway near the highway, the agitated man returned, became aggressive, and at some point, brandished a knife, striking a family member and moving toward someone armed with a handgun, the statement said.<\/p>\n

As the man approached, a single round was fired from the pistol and the man collapsed, according to the sheriff’s office.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Arkansas suspect winds up in hospital after shootout with store manager<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nHELENA- WEST HELENA, Ark. \u2014 A suspect who allegedly tried to rob a local store manager and his son early Thursday morning wound up in the hospital after the victim fought back.<\/p>\n

The store manager and his child were opening up Jordan’s Kwik Stop on Sebastian Street around 5:45 a.m. Thursday when a man with a gun forced them inside. The man reportedly said “let me get everything” and held them at gunpoint.<\/p>\n

According to police, the store manager said, “OK, hold on, let me get it for you,” then grabbed a gun and shot the suspect twice during a shootout.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
