KCK homeowner shoots, injures intruder<\/strong><\/p>\n

KANSAS CITY, Mo. \u2014 A Kansas City, Kansas, homeowner shot an intruder overnight Wednesday in the 1900 block of Key Lane.<\/p>\n

The victim told police he was startled by a noise in his home.<\/p>\n

The homeowner found the suspect and shot him.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Man fires rounds outside fitness center while high on meth, police say<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nTOOELE \u2014 A man who “admitted he may have taken some bad methamphetamine” was arrested Tuesday after firing several rounds outside a Tooele fitness center, thanks in part to an off-duty officer.<\/p>\n

About 4:40 a.m., an off-duty Tooele County sheriff\u2019s deputy had just arrived at Anytime Fitness when he heard multiple gunshots, according to a Tooele County Jail booking affidavit.<\/p>\n

Lance Colby Milner, 34, whose last known residence was in West Jordan, was then seen pounding on the back door of the business while holding a gun. A man opened the door to see what was going on, and Milner pointed a gun at him, the affidavit states.<\/p>\n

“The victim grabbed the handgun from Lance and ordered him to the ground,” according to the affidavit.<\/p>\n

The off-duty officer then went into the fitness center and arrested Milner.<\/p>\n

Investigators found three shell casings, one live round and a full magazine in the area where the shots were fired, the affidavit states. They also found a nearby fence damaged by gunfire.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\u201cOur Son Had Rights\u201d- Armed Robber\u2019s Family Angry After A Pizza Hut Employee Shot Their Son<\/strong><\/p>\n

CHARLOTTE, N.C. \u2013 A west Charlotte Pizza Hut employee is on leave after shooting and killing a man police said was trying to rob the restaurant early Sunday morning.<\/p>\n

Police identified the would-be thief as 28-year-old Michael Grace.<\/p>\n

Investigators said that just before 1:40 a.m. three people tried to break into the Pizza Hut on Freedom Drive.<\/p>\n

Officers told Channel 9 that the employee fired his personal handgun at Grace, who died at the scene.<\/p>\n

Police found the gun they said Grace was carrying when he was shot at the scene.<\/p>\n

The two other intruders ran away and have not yet been found.<\/p>\n

No customers were at the restaurant at the time.<\/p>\n

Police have not determined if the employee will face any charges.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf there was to be a death, it was not the place of the employee at Pizza Hut. That is the place of law enforcement,\u201d said Hairston.<\/p>\n

Hairston and Grace Sr acknowledged that their son was breaking the law by robbing the business, and said they definitely don\u2019t condone what he did.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was an act of desperation, but I do not believe that Michael would have hurt anyone,\u201d said Hairston.<\/p>\n

The parents are angry that their son was shot and killed by an employee. They don\u2019t believe the full story has been released to the public.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhy in the hell did this guy have a gun?\u201d questioned Hairston about the employee who shot her son.<\/p>\n

She said her son was shot in the head, and she thinks the shooting may have even been personal, citing past conflicts Grace Jr had had with other employees at the restaurant.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
