From Louisiana:\u00a0\u00a0https:\/\/www.nola.com\/news\/crime_police\/article_1883a7e6-f676-11e9-9902-27ab86276293.html<\/a><\/p>\n An early morning shooting near Slidell that left one man dead happened when a convicted felon shot at two men who were trying to take his child, according to the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office.<\/p>\n The dead man was identified by Coroner Dr. Charles Preston as 34-year-old Calvin Jackson of Marrero. The cause of death was a gunshot wound, Preston said.<\/p>\n Hakim Dumas, 40, had argued with his live-in girlfriend just after 1 a.m. Thursday, according to a Sheriff’s Office news release.
