Tennessee man says fatal shooting was act of self-defense<\/strong><\/p>\n

KINGSPORT, Tenn. (AP) \u2014 Authorities in Tennessee say a man told them he fired his weapon in self-defense when he fatally shot someone who approached his car in a parking lot.<\/p>\n

The Bristol Herald Courier reports Sullivan County sheriff’s officials said in a news release that a man told them on Saturday he was approached by the victim<\/strong>, 29-year-old Rusty Cordle. The man said he’d been driving in front of Cordle on a state highway before pulling into a business lot. He says Cordle pulled in after him and approached his vehicle in a “threatening manner” and he feared for his life. The man shot Cordle, who then entered a store and asked for help.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Homeowner: ‘I was scared for my life,’ panicked before fatally shooting 19-year-old<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nULSA, Okla. (KTUL) \u2014 A homeowner who fatally shot a man outside his home says he was scared for his life and panicked.<\/p>\n

That homeowner says he\u2019s really shaken up because he never expected this to happen. Meanwhile, police say they\u2019re treating this as self-defense.<\/p>\n

A shooting last night that left one man dead and another shaken up is still being investigated hours later.<\/p>\n

\u201cRight now, it looks like he was justified,” said Officer Danny Bean.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s what Tulsa police believe happened outside the home — a homeowner defending his house from another man.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur homeowner had a gun and our second subject also had a gun,” said Bean.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Man thwarts home invasion, shoots intruders holding mother of two at gunpoint<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nPHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — Philadelphia police are trying to track down a man they say stopped a home invasion by shooting two intruders, one of whom later died.<\/p>\n

The break-in happened around 4 a.m. Monday at a home near Walker and Wellington Streets in the Tacony section of Philadelphia.<\/p>\n

Police said two men wearing masks broke into the home by climbing up a deck and entering through a nearby window.<\/p>\n

The men went upstairs and stole a cell phone from a 9-year-old boy and then held his mother at gunpoint in the next room demanding money, according to police.<\/p>\n

Police said the woman’s one-year-old was also in the house.<\/p>\n

Investigators said a man interrupted the robbery with gunfire.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
