Poetrooper sends us this gem, which while pretty hilarious on its face, is actually quite scary that people so ignorant of firearms are passing legislation on them. <\/p>\n
We all remember Tucker asking Rep. Carolyn McCarthy (D-NY) about what a barrel shroud was, as it was on a list of banned items, and her answer of “That shoulder thing that goes up.” <\/p>\n
One would hope the people elected to make laws would actually have a working knowledge of the subject at hand, and Rep. McCarthy is an outlier. Unfortunately that is not the case. Here’s few of the more memorable firearm gaffs-<\/p>\n
1. The aforementioned up-going shoulder thing.<\/p>\n
2. Rep. Diana DeGette (D-CO) opines, “What\u2019s the efficacy of banning these magazine clips? I will tell you these are ammunition, they\u2019re bullets, so the people who have those know they\u2019re going to shoot them, so if you ban them in the future, the number of these \u2018high capacity\u2019 magazines is going to decrease dramatically over time because the bullets will have been shot and there won\u2019t be any more available.\u201d <\/p>\n
3. Incendiary rounds are \u201cheat seeking devices\u201d from New York Assemblywoman Patricia Eddington. While discussing a proposed ban on .50 caliber rifles, she mistook incendiary rounds for heat-seeking ammunition. Which would be pretty cool if they actually existed.<\/p>\n
4. “Shotgun Joe” Biden. Do I need to say more?<\/p>\n
And 5. The infamous \u201cGhost Gun\u201d incident, that California State Senator Kevin de Le\u00f3n articulated that have the amazing ability “…with a 30-caliber clip to disperse with 30 bullets within half a second. 30 magazine clip within half a second,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n
