Sisters homeowner stops apparent burglary in progress<\/strong><\/p>\n

A Sisters resident stopped an apparent burglary in progress early Monday morning and held the alleged burglar at gunpoint until sheriff\u2019s deputies arrived and arrested him.<\/p>\n

Ryan Paul Huber, 43, of Sisters, was arrested on suspicion of first-degree burglary, first-degree criminal trespassing and second-degree criminal mischief and lodged in the Deschutes County jail.<\/p>\n

Just before 2 a.m. Monday, a burglary in progress was reported at 1659 W. Carson Ave. in Sisters. Deputies were told an unknown man had broken down the back door of the home and entered, according to the Deschutes County Sheriff\u2019s Office. The homeowner, armed with a rifle, confronted Huber in the home and Huber then left, according to the sheriff\u2019s office. <\/p>\n

Huber went to a neighboring home and began ringing the doorbell, according to the sheriff\u2019s office. That homeowner also called 911 and told Huber to leave. Huber then walked to the original home he allegedly broke into, where he was held at gunpoint by the homeowner until sheriff\u2019s deputies arrived. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Man shot and killed after stabbing person at party in rural Merced County<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nThe remote area on the west side of Merced County became a crime scene Saturday night.<\/p>\n

Deputies say a party was underway at a ranch down Green House Road when 48-year-old Mario Quinonez from Gustine became intoxicated and started threatening people with a knife.<\/p>\n

“He cut a couple of people, and at some point or another, one of the subjects who was assaulted with the knife pulled out a gun to defend himself and ended up shooting the decedent,” said Merced County sheriff’s deputy Daryl Allen.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\nTwo children were attacked at a school bus stop in Lexington.<\/p>\n

Now health officials are confirming the animal involved represents Davidson county\u2019s fifth case of rabies this year.<\/p>\n

The children were waiting for their school bus Friday morning when a fox suddenly ran out of the woods right up to the kids. It shredded one child\u2019s backpack and bit through another\u2019s shoe.<\/p>\n

The incident happened right outside American Children\u2019s Home.<\/p>\n

A staff member immediately got the kids back into the building and called animal control.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe staff reported that the fox was very aggressive and that was unusual for it to come out,\u201d said Kathy Berrier, American Children\u2019s Home president. “Thankfully our house parents are very vigilant and were able to get the children inside with no damage to the children. No bites or anything. The backpack didn\u2019t fair quite as well, but they are safe.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
