Homeowner confronts suspect, fires shot before suspect flees: \u2018I did what I think anyone would do\u2019<\/p>\n

\nMILWAUKEE — A Milwaukee man is speaking out after a violent confrontation with a man trying to break into his vehicle on the city’s northwest side. The homeowner says he shot the suspect to protect his family — and now it is possible he could face charges.<\/p>\n

Vincent Nash makes his living driving some of Milwaukee’s most deadly roads. But he faced even more danger in his own driveway near 105th and Darnel Avenue. The husband and father was getting ready for work early Friday morning, Sept. 6 when something caught his eye.<\/p>\n

“My motion sensor light had gone off,” Nash said.<\/p>\n

Outside, Nash saw a man trying to break into his vehicles. He ran out the door with his registered gun in hand to confront the suspect. Nash said the suspect did not back down.<\/p>\n

“The guy started to wrestle me,” Nash said.<\/p>\n

Seconds later, Nash said both men ended up in the bushes.<\/p>\n

“You don’t know what’s going to happen. I have a firearm in my hand. I don’t really know what he has. And if I let it get too far and he gets a hold of the firearm, there is no telling what happens,” Nash said.<\/p>\n

Nash pulled the trigger.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Rittman homeowner shoots an intruder who turns out to be stepson<\/strong><\/p>\n

RITTMAN \u2014Police are investigating a shooting at a Hilty Avenue home where a homeowner said he shot a suspected intruder who turned out to be the man’s stepson.<\/p>\n

According to a news release, at approximately 8:42 a.m. Wednesday, Rittman police received a 911 call from a 68-year-old man who said he shot an intruder at his house in the 300 block of Hilty Avenue.<\/p>\n

The 911 call came from a calm man who said, “I just shot an intruder in my house,” before asking for a squad.<\/p>\n

The resident identified the suspect as his 28-year-old estranged stepson.<\/p>\n

“He went out the garage,” the homeowner said during the call.<\/p>\n

The 68-year-old said he thought he might have hit the man when he fired his .38-caliber revolver, but didn’t know where.<\/p>\n

“He took off. I don’t know where he is now. He went out the back,” the man said in the call.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Neighbor shoots, kills dog attacking boy in northwest Houston<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nA 5-year-old boy is recovering in the hospital after being attacked by a dog in north Houston early Friday.<\/p>\n

The boy was in the 7300 block of Alabonson shortly before 7:30 a.m. when the dog attacked him, according to the Harris County Precinct 1 Constable’s Office. A neighbor who spotted the attack pulled a gun and shot the dog, which died.<\/p>\n

The boy suffered a non-life-threatening leg injury and was rushed to a nearby hospital for evaluation, according to the constable’s office.<\/p>\n

Deputies are working to identify the shooter. It is not clear if they will face any charges.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
