ISIS has found a new vector for its suicide bombers- cows. Attrition from both the US and Allied forces has so reduced ISIS’s numbers they are reluctant to use human suicide bombers.
\nPerhaps not the most efficient manner to deliver suicide bombers- they have to get the cows near their intended target, and remain close enough to detonate the cows, err, bombs, when the cows mosey over to where they can do the most damage. Not a bit stealthy, the cows won’t be able to join a wedding group or enter a restaurant, two favorite ISIS targets.
\nThis tactic has sort of worked. Once. I don’t think ISIS will get much mileage out of cow bombs, but they’re still in the game. Just proves you can’t keep a good terrorist down. <\/p>\n

Rubin<\/strong><\/p>\n The Islamic State has been reluctant to use humans to carry bombs because of the group\u2019s reduced numbers, so it has tried out a new tactic: Bovine suicide bombers.<\/p>\n Residents of Al Islah, Iraq, on Saturday said they had witnessed \u201ca strange\u201d sight: two cows harnessed to explosive vests roving the northern side of the village, according to Col. Ghalib Al-Atyia, the spokesman for the police commander in Diyala Province.<\/p>\n The animals wandered into the outskirts of the community, and when they seemed close to houses, the bombs were detonated remotely, killing the cows, and damaging nearby houses, but not harming any people, Colonel Al-Atyia said.<\/p>\n In the colonel\u2019s assessment, the attack signaled that the Islamic State, whose ranks were sharply reduced by the group\u2019s four-year fight against Iraqi security forces backed by American special forces, was resorting to unconventional methods since they lacked manpower.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Read the entire article here: NY Times<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
