Woman shoots man who reached into car and tried to steal purse in SW Houston: Police<\/strong><\/p>\n By Miya Shay It happened around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday on Creekbend at Fondren in southwest Houston.<\/p>\n Police say Lachelle Hudgins had just parked her vehicle outside her home when two men reached through her driver’s side window and grabbed her purse. Finally, he breaks down the door and is immediately felled by a single shot from homeowner Charles Dorsey.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n 1 \/ 0 \/ 0 Man Shoots, Kills Man During Attempted Stabbing in Bridgeport: Police<\/strong><\/p>\n A man has died after another man shot and killed him following an attempted stabbing in Bridgeport on Sunday night, according to police.<\/p>\n Officers were called to Noble Avenue and Shelton Street around 6:15 p.m.<\/p>\n When police arrived, they said they found a man, later identified as 41-year-old Jose Perez-Ortiz, of Monroe, suffering from a gunshot wound.<\/p>\n Authorities said Perez-Ortiz was taken to Bridgeport Hospital, where he later died.<\/p>\n The shooting was captured on a nearby video system and shows Perez-Ortiz attempting to stab the man.
