Talladega Teen Shoots Cop During Robbery, Loses Gunfight<\/strong>
\nAn off-duty Lincoln police officer fatally shot a 19-year-old football player after the teen shot him during a robbery.<\/em><\/p>\n

\nTalladega, AL \u2013 An off-duty Lincoln police officer was shot in the arm by a former high school football player on Tuesday as the officer tried to intervene in a robbery.<\/p>\n

The officer returned fire and fatally shot 19-year-old Javaon Ousley, WAAY reported.<\/p>\n

The incident occurred just before 2 p.m. on Aug. 13 on the basketball court adjacent to the Knoxville Homes public housing project, WVTM reported.<\/p>\n

Lincoln Mayor Caroll Watson said that Ousley told family members that he was meeting up with someone from Facebook Marketplace to sell something, WAAY reported.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\nA man was shot to death Sunday night in Lamar County, but he may have been shot in self-defense, Sheriff Danny Rigel said.<\/p>\n

Thirty-one-year-old Henry Johnson of Lumberton was pronounced dead on arrival at a local hospital, Coroner Cody Creel said.<\/p>\n

The shooting occurred around 7 p.m. on Little Black Creek Road in Lumberton. A 911 call came in about a fight at the location. Another call came in soon after to report one of the suspects had been shot twice.<\/p>\n

When deputies arrived, two people were performing cardio-pulmonary resuscitation on the shooting victim. One of them told deputies he was the person who shot Johnson.<\/p>\n

After talking to witnesses and investigating the scene, Rigel said the shooting appears to have been in self-defense.<\/p>\n

Rigel said several witnesses who saw the fight told deputies the victim was the aggressor. They said the fight started at one location. The shooter left the scene but the victim followed him to another location and continued the fight.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

No charges filed after man dies after shooting at Upstate Lowe’s<\/strong>
\nShooting happened Sunday afternoon<\/em><\/p>\n

SPARTANBURG, S.C. \u2014 Spartanburg police said an argument between two men led to a shooting outside the Lowe’s store on East Blackstock Road on Sunday afternoon.<\/p>\n

Monday afternoon, officers said no charges would be filed, because it was a case of self defense.

Police said they were called to the scene around 2:45 p.m.<\/p>\n

Officers said the men were acquaintances and knew each other prior to the argument.<\/p>\n

The Spartanburg County coroner said the victim, Randall Belk, 54, of Roebuck, died a short time later at a hospital.<\/p>\n

Police said Belk continued to confront the man who opened fire, threatening him with a large piece of lumber, and the man shot him. He was taken for questioning but released. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n
