14-Year-Old Shoots at Intrusion Suspects to Save Her Sisters<\/strong><\/p>\n by AWR Hawkins WSAZ reports that three teenage girls were alone at home when the intrusion suspects allegedly tried to make entry. They were alone because the father of the home was working and the mother \u201cat the store.\u201d<\/p>\n Two men allegedly pulled up in a car and one exited and \u201crepeatedly tried to gain entry by trying to kick in the doors.\u201d<\/p>\n The suspect then allegedly went into the backyard with a shovel, preparing to break out a window. The 14-year-old located a 9mm handgun and loaded it. She then noticed the suspect with the shovel and the driver of the car were allegedly arguing and she fired a shot in their direction.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n 0 \/ 0 \/ 2 Portland homeowner holds machete-wielding burglar at gunpoint until officers arrive, police say<\/strong><\/p>\n Author: Nate Hanson Shortly before 10 p.m., officers responded to a report of a burglary in progress at a home in the 8000 block of Southeast Francis Street. Officers arrived and found the homeowner holding the suspect at gunpoint, according to Portland police.<\/p>\n Police said the homeowner found the suspect, who was holding a machete, in the garage. The homeowner fired two shots and the suspect then complied with the homeowner until officers arrived, police said. <\/p>\n No one was injured.<\/p>\n The suspect, 50-year-old William James Kennedy, was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on a count of second-degree burglary.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n 0 \/ 1 \/ 0 Suspect shot during home invasion in west valley, police say <\/strong><\/p>\n Gabriella Benavidez, Cassandra Mlynarek According to police, officers were called to the 9300 block of West Desert Inn, near South Fort Apache Road, around 2:33 p.m. on August 7. <\/p>\n The shooting happened at the Regency at the Lakes apartment complex. Andrea, a woman who lives at the apartments and didn’t want to give her last name, said the suspected intruders robbed her place first.<\/p>\n “The detectives asked me to just see what was missing, and I did notice a few things that weren\u2019t there anymore,” she said.<\/p>\n Despite only living in the apartment with her family for about a month, she said her downstairs neighbor took notice of the intruders.<\/p>\n “Our downstairs neighbor heard the commotion, and he knows that we\u2019re not there during the day,” Andrea said.<\/p>\n She said her neighbor called the cops and armed himself. The suspected thieves then forced their way into his apartment downstairs.<\/p>\n Las Vegas police said one of the three suspects was shot by the homeowner after breaking open the door.
