Eric Swalwell is the first prominent Democrat among a crowded field to drop his bid for the presidency. <\/p>\n

Swalwell, 38, challenged front-runner Joe Biden to \u201cpass the torch\u201d of party leadership to the next generation during the first Democratic primary debates. Two weeks later, Swalwell announced he would instead seek a fifth term representing California in the U.S. House, saying poll figures show his path to the Democratic nomination is impossible.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Seems RGR769 made the call and the fat lady sang for Eric. He’s headed home to the Land of Fruits, Nuts, and Flakes to further his career suckling from the Government’s teat, errr, receiving tax payer dollars. <\/p>\n

\u201cIf there was a viable chance, I would not be standing here today,\u201d Swalwell said at his campaign headquarters in Dublin, California Monday. \u201cI was, from day one, running to win. As soon as it doesn\u2019t look like you\u2019re likely to win, I didn\u2019t want to mislead my family, my staff, our supporters and my constituents.\u201d\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Difficult enough for a one trick pony to advance in the political process, but he managed to pick one of the most polarizing issues to run on. Lesson learned? Maybe so, and I don’t believe we’ve seen the last of Eric. <\/p>\n
