Man jumped out a University Place window to make getaway. He got shot when he returned<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nUNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. – A man jumped from the window of a University Place apartment to avoid getting arrested and was shot when he returned hours later, authorities said.<\/p>\n

The string of incidents began just before noon Friday when a 65-year-old woman called her brother for help, said Pierce County Sheriff\u2019s Department spokesman Ed Troyer.<\/p>\n

The woman\u2019s daughter, 35, and the daughter\u2019s boyfriend allegedly were trafficking in stolen property from the older woman\u2019s home in the 3300 block of 72nd Court West, Troyer said.<\/p>\n

The woman was afraid they might hurt her. Her brother called police after she contacted him.<\/p>\n

When deputies arrived at the apartment, the boyfriend jumped out a window and ran. Deputies arrested the woman\u2019s daughter and took her to the Pierce County Jail in Tacoma.<\/p>\n

Around 2:45 p.m., after deputies had left, the boyfriend returned and \u201cassaulted the brother,\u201d Troyer said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Suspects knock on apartment door, resident starts firing shots<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nATLANTA, Ga. (CBS46) — Police responded to a shooting in the early hours of Saturday morning in northwest Atlanta.<\/p>\n

The incident happened around 2 a.m. at an apartment complex on the 500 Bishop Street.
\nThe victim told officials, he heard a knock on his door and he then looked out his peep to see if anyone was there. Prior to opening his door, the victim grabbed his firearm for protection.<\/p>\n

He then opened his door slightly and saw two to three men standing there with firearms, so the victim started firing.<\/p>\n

According to officials, the suspects then fled the scene and no one appeared to be injured during the shooting.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\nMOSCOW MILLS \u2022 A man was fatally shot here on Thursday by a shooter who police believe may have been acting in self-defense. <\/p>\n

Brian Fredde, 43, died Thursday of wounds from a singe gunshot wound to the chest, according to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office. <\/p>\n

Deputies responded about 2:30 p.m. Thursday to a report of a homicide in the 400 block of Hill Street, the sheriff’s office said.<\/p>\n

Police said evidence investigators obtained “suggests the suspect acted in self-defense.”<\/p>\n

They did not immediately release the name of the shooter.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
