Todd Patalano.<\/p>\n<p>Brendan Anderson, 36, Cranston, is still being treated at Rhode Island Hospital, Patalano said Tuesday. He is charged with burglary, assault and disorderly conduct.<\/p>\n<p>Patalano said officers responded to 1012 Pontiac Ave. at 3:10 a.m. In the home\u2019s basement, a man in his 30s was found with a gunshot wound in the area of his upper chest and shoulder.<\/p>\n<p>In the aftermath of the police response \u2013 which closed a portion of Pontiac Avenue for a time and drew widespread attention \u2013 Patalano said the two occupants of the home were cooperating with authorities. She is described as a Hispanic woman in her late twenties to early thirties, about 5&#8242; 9&#8243; tall and 150 pounds. Off those who participated in the poll, 79% were against the idea of an Australia\u2013style government gun buyback program, and 21% of the poll respondents favored the proposal.
