Any killing in that situation must be reported to authorities within five days. The bear in Castle Pines was killed about 1 a.m. on Thursday, and the resident reported the death on Friday evening, officials said.

“This is an unfortunate occurrence, and you never want to hear of a sow getting killed and cubs being orphaned,” CPW Northeast Region Manager Mark Leslie said in a statement. “Review of the events in this case did not reveal any statutory violation with regards to the killing of the sow.”

1 / 0 / 0
The rest of the paragraph may be viewed here: The Denver Channel

Armed suspect fatally shot by Denver police after firing multiple rounds downtown
No community members, police injured in shooting

By: Stephanie Butzer
DENVER — Denver police shot an armed man after he allegedly opened fire a few blocks south of the Colorado State Capitol on Monday morning.

Around 7:10 a.m., community members called 911 to report that a person had fired multiple shots between the intersection of 8th Avenue and Lincoln Street and the intersection of 10th Avenue and Lincoln Street, said Denver Police Chief Paul Pazen.

He said police responded to the scene quickly and “resolved the situation.” The suspect died. Police confirmed he had been armed with a handgun.

No officers were injured, police said. Pazen thanked the community members who called 911.

“Any time you have an individual that is armed that is firing a weapon here in the city during rush-hour traffic, it’s a very dangerous situation,” he said.

1 / 0 / 0
The Denver Channel

Broward County Sheriff’s Department Loses Accreditation After Parkland Failures

by Dan Zimmerman
This is what happens when a law enforcement agency’s multiple failures to handle a situation according to well-developed, standard protocols results in the deaths of innocent students and teachers. From the AP: Florida’s largest sheriff’s office has lost its law enforcement accreditation after criticism over its handling of fatal shootings at a high school and an airport.

The Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation voted 13-0 last week not to renew the Broward Sheriff’s Office’s accreditation. Commission members include law enforcement and other local officials from across Florida.

They cited the agency’s handling of last year’s Parkland shooting and a 2017 shooting at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport as reasons for the decision.

Sheriff Gregory Tony says it’s disheartening for the agency’s 5,400 employees to lose their accreditation for the previous administration’s mistakes. BSO’s former sheriff, Scott Israel, was suspended by the governor earlier this year.

CFA Executive Director Lori Mizell says 166 agencies have the voluntary certification. An agency can keep operating without accreditation. Mizell says having accreditation means an agency meets more than 250 professional standards.

0 / 1 / 0
The entire article may be viewed here: WLBT. com

Today’s score, Delta Whiskies and Whiskettes, stands at two departing the fix, one who should be, and none in the wind.

I’m not in the leftist controlled Rock and Roll Hall of Fame because of my political views, primarily my lifelong militant support of the NRA, the Second Amendment, and my belief that the only good bad guy is a dead bad guy.
