Lubbock Police asking for public\u2019s help finding suspects who shot 79-year-old man early Tuesday<\/strong><\/p>\n By Michael Cantu Baker remains in critical condition after he was shot when three men entered his house Tuesday morning in the 6500 block of Avenue Q.<\/p>\n Police were called to the area at 12:20 a.m. after multiple \u201cshots fired\u201d reports were called in, according to the Lubbock Police Department.<\/p>\n When police arrived, they found Baker sitting in a chair across from his house. He was \u201cinjured via gunshot wounds,\u201d according to the police report.<\/p>\n After an investigation, police found three men forced their way into his home and started shooting. Though Baker was shot, he was able to get his own gun and start firing at the suspects.<\/p>\n There is no indication if any of the suspects were injured, but they were able to flee the scene in a silver\/gray four door passenger car. Deputies and emergency medical personnel attempted life-saving measures; however, the suspect was pronounced dead at the scene. <\/p>\n The female homeowner told deputies that she was asleep in her home when she her dog started barking, waking her up. The victim entered a bedroom where she saw Manigult hiding, deputies said. The victim told deputies that she became frightened and yelled at the man, telling him he didn’t belong inside her home. Deputies said a woman was cleaning her home when she heard a loud noise coming from a back window.<\/p>\n The woman saw broken glass and grabbed a gun before hiding in a closet in a back bedroom.
