The folks at Military Phony<\/a> send us their work on Robert Gene Hayes<\/a>, who claims to have served in Vietnam, was in both the US Marine Corps and US Army Special Forces, worked in a “Black Ops” unit and was wounded in combat.<\/p>\n

Bob posts a lot of Vietnam-themed photos to his page but doesn’t label them – for instance – as him or his unit.<\/p>\n

Bob also wears a lot of Marine Corps bling…<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

He also mixes and matches Marine Corps and US Army Special Forces bling…<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Although this is some historical recreation, he still mixes and matches Marine Corps and Army Special Forces…<\/p>\n

His wife is proud of Bob’s military accomplishments and posted about them…<\/p>\n

Then there is the “Black Ops” stuff normally one can’t talk about…<\/p>\n

Had that Huey not been parked out back, she may be telling a different story.\u00a0 How lucky can one be?<\/p>\n

Someone asked Bob about the Marine Corps claim…<\/p>\n

One huge discrepancy is that all of Robert’s time since he graduated from High School in 1973 is accounted for.<\/p>\n

Hayes got a football scholarship to Nebraska.\u00a0 His name showed up in the Nebraska newspapers and team rosters from 1973 to 1977.<\/p>\n

In fact, when he played in the inter-scrimmage RED-WHITE GAME, it was a mere couple of weeks before they evacuated the embassy in Saigon.<\/p>\n

Hayes’ time is accounted for from 1973-1977, playing football and going to college in Nebraska, but yet he claims he was in Vietnam serving his country.<\/p>\n

How could this be?<\/p>\n

Robert Gene Hayes’ military records were ordered through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request.\u00a0 NPRC said “who?”<\/p>\n

This case is a head-scratcher.<\/p>\n

Who would not be proud of playing football for Nebraska?\u00a0 Or maybe that is presumptuous and there is some reason to adopt the “US Marine Corps-Vietnam Vet-US Army Special Forces-Black Ops” persona?<\/p>\n
