I remember following the impeachment proceedings against then-President Clinton. The mainstream media went into overdrive trying to make it sound “trivial”.<\/p>\n

I even remember Jerry Nadler putting up a passionate argument against impeachment. In fact, he argued that if they wanted to hold him [the president] accountable, that they could do it with a censure. He mentioned something about “stamping with a censure”.<\/p>\n

Around this time, a website gained traction. The goal of the website was to argue against impeachment and then simply “move on”. This site was “moveon.org”.<\/p>\n

Where are the mainstream media, Jerry Nadler, and Moveon today? Advancing a different argument that they advanced a couple of decades ago.<\/p>\n

Potential participants are instructed that there will be follow-up plans after the one day event is over. Organizers describe reasons for impeachment moves on a FAQ page that discusses why they support impeachment despite odds it will stall in the U.S. Senate, whether Vice President Mike Pence is a greater threat as next in line to replace the president, and why they continue to herald claims against the president in relation to Russia and the 2016 election.<\/p>\n

Modern Family Executive Producer Danny Zuker called for marchers to celebrate the president’s birthday by marching on Saturday for impeachment.<\/p>\n

MoveOn lists the following organizations on the event website as partners: Need to Impeach, CREDO, FreeSpeachforPeople.org, Indivisible, By the People, Liberty Tree, Women’s March, March for Truth, AGN, Mainers for Accountable Leadership, Saratoga Progressive Action, Stand Up America, blue future, Daily Kos, Alameda4Impeachment, Indivisible East Bay, Courage Campaign, Progressive Democrats of America, Democracy for America, Move to Amend, resistbot, act.tv, and United Native America.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

People with rational minds reading the Mueller report would “shake their heads” at the argument behind such a move. But, we are not dealing with people with rational minds. Just folks driven by emotion, desire for power, desire to have their way, etc.<\/p>\n
