{"id":87919,"date":"2019-06-13T09:32:48","date_gmt":"2019-06-13T13:32:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/valorguardians.com\/blog\/?p=87919"},"modified":"2019-06-13T09:39:07","modified_gmt":"2019-06-13T13:39:07","slug":"veteran-reads-own-fake-obituary-family-upset","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/?p=87919","title":{"rendered":"Veteran Reads Fake Obituary About His Own Death, Family Upset"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"width: 768px;\" class=\"wp-video\"><video class=\"wp-video-shortcode\" id=\"video-87919-1\" width=\"768\" height=\"430\" preload=\"metadata\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"video\/mp4\" src=\"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/fake-obit.mp4?_=1\" \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/fake-obit.mp4\">https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/fake-obit.mp4<\/a><\/video><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Well, this is certainly a new twist&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>WTVR out of Richmond Virginia has reported that a veteran woke up to the sound of his mother crying because she was reading the veteran&#8217;s fake obituary.<\/p>\n<p class=\"entry-title\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/wtvr.com\/2019\/06\/13\/justin-felger-false-obituary\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Fake obituary stuns Chesterfield veteran and his family: \u2018I woke up to the sound of my mom\u00a0crying\u2019<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The story has been published and taken down so we will supply it here in case it disappears again:\u00a0 <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/Fake-obituary-_-WTVR.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">WTVR &#8211;\u00a0FAKE OBITUARY STORY<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The family immediately reached out to the newspaper, desperate to figure out how this happened.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere was an error made, they have standard operating procedures, they check, but in this case somebody missed something,\u201d Felger said he was told.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe can confirm that a private citizen submitted this false information to the Times-Dispatch through our online obituary portal,\u201d said Jason Dillon, vice president of advertising for the Richmond Times-Dispatch.<\/p>\n<p>The obituary was taken off the website, and the next day, a correction was printed.<\/p>\n<p>It read: \u201cOn Page B4 Thursday, the Times-Dispatch erroneously published an obituary for Staff Sgt. Justin W. Felger. Felger is alive.
