\nSAN ANTONIO – UPDATE: A 48-year-old man who was shot in the chest by his on-again, off-again girlfriend has died from his injuries, San Antonio police said.<\/p>\n

Police also said they found the woman, in her late 50s, with her tooth knocked out. They said they believe the pair got into a physical altercation. <\/p>\n

Officials said the woman told them he was assaulting her, and she went into her bedroom for safety.<\/p>\n

The woman, fearing further injury, found the gun she kept in her room and fired once at the man after he said he was going to kill her. <\/p>\n

Police took the woman into custody, but they have not said if she will face any charges.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Goshen woman shot with her gun during home invasion<\/strong><\/p>\n

GOSHEN \u2014 A Goshen woman was shot with her own handgun during a home invasion Friday night.<\/p>\n

At approximately 12:02 a.m. Saturday, Goshen City Police officers responded to a call regarding a shooting in the 1000 block of North Fifth Street, where they met with the victim, Sarah Marshall, 31.<\/p>\n

The victim stated that she heard a noise in her home and found an unknown male subject standing in her house. She retrieved her handgun and approached the subject. A short struggle for the weapon ensued, during which time Marshall was shot in the leg.<\/p>\n

The suspect fled the home in an unknown direction and has not been identified or located. No other description is available.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

UPDATE: Despite new details, questions remain in fatal Utah passerby shooting<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nPROVO \u2014 A 26-year-old man shot and killed Monday in Provo continued to punch and bite a woman, then stomped on her head, after a passerby threatened to fire at him if he did not stop, Provo police said.<\/p>\n

Officers released a more detailed picture Friday of the moments before the gunman, a white man in his 20’s, fatally shot Jeremy Sorensen twice.<\/p>\n

Sorensen, who was African-American, was laid to rest Friday in Orem about the same time detectives handed off their investigation to prosecutors, who will weigh criminal charges for the suspected shooter.<\/p>\n

About 8 p.m. on Monday night, police said, Sorensen “ignored several clear verbal warnings” and continued to assault an 18-year-old acquaintance before she broke free and ran behind the gunman, who had been driving by and pulled over when he saw the two struggling in the driveway of an apartment complex.<\/p>\n

“More verbal warnings were given,” Provo police said on Twitter.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
