Kaufman County woman fatally shot burglar in self-defense, officials say <\/strong><\/p>\n

\nA Kaufman County woman who was awoken by a burglar fatally shot the man in self-defense Thursday morning, police say.<\/p>\n

The woman called 911 about 9:45 a.m. after she woke up to a man she did not recognize banging on her front door in the 8000 block of FM2757, near Interstate 20 and Malloy Bridge Road. <\/p>\n

She called 911 from a locked closet when she heard the back door being kicked in, police said. <\/p>\n

The woman stayed on the line with operators until the burglar confronted her, at which point she shot him in self-defense, Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Jolie Stewart said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Homeowner shoots man who broke into his Uptown home<\/strong>
\nThe 42-year-old forced his way into the residence when the 39-year-old homeowner, who has a valid FOID card, shot him, police said.<\/em><\/p>\n

\nA homeowner shot the man who broke into his home Friday in Uptown on the North Side.<\/p>\n

About 12:08 a.m., a 42-year-old man forced his way into a home in the 800 block of West Lakeside Place through a rear sliding door, Chicago police said.<\/p>\n

He was confronted by the 39-year-old homeowner who shot him in the buttocks, police said. The homeowner is an FOID card holder.<\/p>\n

The older man\u2019s condition was stabilized at Illinois Masonic Medical Center, police said. No one else was inside the home, and the homeowner was not injured. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Homeowner reports shooting of intruder<\/strong>

A Little Rock man walked into a Sherwood home with a knife Tuesday, got shot and ran away, a report said.<\/p>\n

Sherwood police officers responded to the 4200 block of Community Cove, where a homeowner told them a man entered his residence carrying a knife, the report said. The resident shot the intruder, who ran away.<\/p>\n

Waymon L. Calloway, 47, was arrested after seeking help at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock, officers reported.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
