An article in the local fishwrap this morning has Miss Nancy ginning up to impeach Pres. Trump. Period. All sorts of things follow, but the gist of it is that she wants to impeach him. Whilst she is “damping down” the urging from other members of the House to impeach Pres. Trump, the spark has already been lit and her disclaimer (“I will pray for him” – uh, what?) is hollow. The claim that “he stalked out” is also hollow, because he simply broke off discussions, and left quietly, and it was broadcast on live TV.

https://www.apnews.com/abf4b46fcb07477d9871ad56df45b3ca

She might have been doing her homework, with an eye to using any means of getting The Donald out of the White House so that she can have that seat. Why? Because there is a specific line of succession included for the purpose of replacing the President if he is removed from office.

Here is the background information about the line of succession for the President and Vice President of the United States, hot off the internet.

Presidential Succession:
Article 2, Section 1, Clause 6, Constitution of the United States: In Case of the Removal of the President from Office, or of his Death, Resignation, or Inability to discharge the Powers and Duties of the said Office, the Same shall devolve on the Vice President, and the Congress may by Law provide for the Case of Removal, Death, Resignation or Inability, both of the President and Vice President declaring what Officer shall then act as President, and such Officer shall act accordingly, until the Disability be removed, or a President shall be elected.

In the case that the president can no longer serve, the Vice President would serve as President. (But wait, there’s more!)

If the Vice President cannot serve, the line of succession falls to the Speaker of the House, then to the Senate president pro tempore, then to Cabinet members.

And who is the Speaker of the House right now? Who got her gavel back and grinned broadly while she cuddled it like a lost pussy? I know she has that babbling, bumbling speech pattern down to a finely patterned presentation, but anyone who can snag her gavel and return to her prized position as Speaker is not, in my view, even close to the public mope persona that she presents.

Oh, you don’t think this is likely? Stranger things have happened in Foggy Bottom, and we all know it.

I may go to the local OTB to find out what the over and under might be on this.

And if Nancy Pelosi weren’t so obvious about it, she wouldn’t look quite so silly.
